The loss of #36 is much worse than we could have anticipated

With the possible additional loss of Ihedigbo, we would have 2 safeties on the roster. Now what?

Leonhard didn't throw 3 TERRIBLE picks.

Leonhard doesn't make the same gameplans every week even though the teams we are facing are different.

Leonhard doesn't turn an offense with the most talent in the league into a limp dick pop gun.

#1) We were playing behind because of the atrocious defense. It is impossible not to attribute a large percentage of this failure to the loss of Leonhard (enhanced by the limited time to adjust the gameplan).

#2) We have ZERO safety depth at the moment. It's a real issue

    wrong.

we were playing from behind because we gave the pats great field position two times in a row. the defense didn't help the cause but with the weatherford punt and the missed FG we were fucked.

had we taken it and scored that first drive, it would have been a different ball game. it might ahve even been a different game had we pinned them.

as soon as the pats got confident adn we got dejected, the game was over

I agree that the two teams mistakes and the phantom penalty on the punt return broke our backs, but the D was awful the entire first quarter.

Gee....that's not encouraging. When did a Super Bowl winning team get shut out at home (Packers) AND get "dejected"......thus a humiliating 42 point loss?

I just think it was more of the defense only having 2 days to prepare without Leonhard, they looked confused at points. Hopefully that will get better with a whole week of practice.

Pats got smoked by Cleveland..and i don't care about tonight because they still have a shitty defense.

The Jets need to correct their secondary in a hurry. Luckily they only have a week...they need to take the ball to start the game and try to score on the first drive. This deferring is fine when your offense can get their shit together. Maybe mix it up and get the ball first and set a tone on offense one time this year.

The Jets have had immense difficulty against tight ends and slot receivers all season, even when Leonhard was healthy. Eric Smith is garbage, but we're not doing a hell of a lot more tonight even if Jim doesn't break his leg.

If Leonhard were really this important to the d, then the rest of the season is going to be ugly. Losing Leonhard just adds to what was already a problem - our defense just isn't dominant this year. We don't have a pass rush and our coverage breaks down. Without our defensive qb, we add communication problems on top of that, not to mention having E. Smith in coverage. I think we need Lowery at safety, Harris calling the shots, and Smith back to his role as a backup.

God he was the worst tackler in the history of football. Can we get Victor Green back out there?

i think losing leonard this late in the week was bad...they will have a week to line things up, but this late in the week caused a lot of confusion in the secondary.

In 2007, the Giants got their asses kicked 42-17 at home to the Vikings, and went on to win the Super Bowl. Anything can happen.
