We have no clue what season 2 will hold.

This is interesting. Most shows finish with a direction in place. They left the end a bit open.

Great series... the only thing that bothered me was the explanation of why there was only one doctor left at the CDC... I can't see everyone abandoning a secure facility like that... especially one where you could find an answer to the epidemic

Very good series so far. The CDC storyline was a big divergence for the comics but I thought it worked pretty well. Also, they seem to have slowed the pace a bit from the books. There are some very significant events that occur in the first graphic novel that they didn't even get to yet in the TV show.

I think that Season 2 will be even better. Long, long wait 'til next October!

Excellent debut season, it exceeded my expectations. Strong finale, not as much re-watch value as some past episodes, but it definitely left me wanting more.

I picked up volumes 12 & 13 to get caught up on the comics, 3 issues per comic. At the rate the show is moving, I don't think they'll ever catch up to the comics. That is fine by the way, since the comics are so open-ended.

At any rate, the show is a fucking triumph.

I can't believe how incredible this show is. From the writing to the unequaled special effects. Andrew Lincoln has been awesome as Rick.

In the interim to season 2 I guess I'll start reading the graphic novels.
To everyone who's read them, how satisfied are you with the TV casting choices?

I love the show, but is his accent any good? It may be because I'm used to seeing him in British shows (you're probably aware that he is a Brit) but it seems to me that sometimes his Georgia accent slips.

The actors that play Shane, Dale, and Lori are perfect choices.

I hated Shane in the comic, but Jon Bernthal's performance made him my favorite character of the first season.

It's a little off on certain words. Some of his pronunciations make me do a double take. But overall, he's doing a great job. I knew he was British before I watched, so I may have been a bit more skeptical of his performance. Those I've talked to who didn't know he was a Brit, had no idea.

So far so good but some of the best characters have yet to be introduced!

Something is off about this show to me. Maybe it's the 6 episode first season and having to put some "action" in it, but for a show thats supposed to be character driven, besides Shane, Lori and Rick the rest of the cast might as well be extras. Were viewers supposed to care that random black woman decided to stay behind? Was anyone that hadn't read the comics supposed to care that Dale and Andrea were going to stay behind?

With them firing the writing staff and a longer season 2 hopefully some of these problems will be worked out.

I've come to the conclusion that you don't like anything but Deadwood.

and you like EVERYTHING. Just to be fair though, as far as current shows this year, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Terriers, Boardwalk Empire and Sons are Anarchy. I'd put this show on about the level of Justified, it shows some promise but I definitely expected more.

I haven't read the comics and I was fucking mortified when Dale was going to stay behind. He's one of my favorite characters thus far, and I immediately wondered who would keep track of time for the group if he died.

I watched 2 horror shows last night. One featured the explosion of the CDC.....the other featured the implosion of the Jets. I liked the first one better. TWD finale was excellent. I am dying to know what Jenner whispered to Rick. My guess is that one of the group is infected (Andrea?). Shane in the hospital was a great scene. I hope we get more flashbacks as I agree that the show does need more character development. Unfortunately, with only 6 episodes this season, I think they just focused on advancing the plot.

6 million plus viewed the finale. Maybe that will accelerate Season 2 a little.

I just can't get over the fact that if they didn't get picked up for a second season, they were willing to settle for that as the ending.

I felt like the finale was weak.

    It was rushed, not weak.

I'm pretty sure this show got a second season before the premiere, so Darabont and his writers could do whatever the fuck they wanted.

The CDC seemed kind of pointless because they got there, ate some dinner, heard a sad story, and left - it was just too rushed. If this was a 13 episode season, I'm willing to bet they spend at least two episodes there.

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THIS SHIT YET

I agree with you 100%. I feel like to salvage the CDC episode, something the scientist said will play a key role somehow down the road?

But I also had in mind the guy's brother who cut his hand off to escape..they would have never gone back to that part of the story.

Also, the old man and the girl who lost her sister...they don't really explain why he has that connection with the woman (Which comes off really creepy in the finale.) other than what he says about loving no one after his wife died.

Knowing the director, I'll have to give them a pass for the "rush" but they need to spend more time with this show especially because of the insane ratings. It leads be to believe there might be a longer layover than we expect until the next season.

I read an interview with Robert Kirkman earlier today on EW.com and he said that entire season was plotted before the Season 2 pickup was determined.
