Certainly a pillow fight of epic proportions. My money says you won't see a ton of Jacory in this game, he's probably already looking for schools that want to take on a one year senior transfer QB.
I'd take him at UNLV, we have no real threat at the QB position and should have pushed harder for Masoli when he was looking at us. He was not an SEC QB but he would have done pretty good in the MWC.
Haha the real cost of going to the BCS!!! Uconn is going to lose millions of dollars.. check this out 8 schools split 17 million or about 2.1 million a school. According to the Business Insider Uconn has 2.5 million dollars worth of unsold tickets (they've only sold 4000 of their 17,500 allotment) They are also on the hook for 550 rooms that are between 125 - 225 a night for 7 nights for fans, the team, coaching staff and band. Then you factor in food and charter flights from Connecticut. They're already 400K in the red before any of the additional costs. The of course Randy Edsell is due a 100K bonus for making a BCS game. Uconn may end up losing at least 1 million dollars by going to the Fiesta Bowl while the Fiesta Bowl execs mke a few hunderd thousands of dollars year in a few weeks worth of work. It's almost laughable what a joke this system is. I'm sure the taxpayers of Connecticut would love to see the bill for being rewarded with a Fiesta Bowl bid....
Let's go Dogs! Kind of a bittersweet end to this era of Fresno State football. On one hand, I'm happy that I won't have to watch Ryan Colburn's weak ass arm anymore after this game. ...but on the other hand, it's going to suck replacing the best defensive player in the WAC: DE/OLB Chris Carter. This is a senior class that's been to four straight bowl games. This class set this program up for big things in the future. After today, the Derek Carr era begins - watch out BCS.
new reason for not having playoffs, according to the brilliant niu/fresno announcers: players may not get as much free stuff if they switch to a playoff system.
One of them keeps saying that Fresno running back Robbie Rouse doesn't look healthy. ...he's wearing a fucking club on his hand.
I joined some bowl pick 'ems late this week and made my picks this morning. I was looking at some of the bowls for the first time this morning. Why the hell is Hawai'i playing in the Hawai'i Bowl? I always thought one of the reasons for having bowls is that teams could be rewarded with a trip to a nice location. Hawai'i should have had to go to one of the asshole bowls in Idaho or Texas or Louisiana.
they have an agreement where they always get invited to the bowl if they're bowl-eligible. They play in it almost every year. There are other bowls with similar arrangements.
I didn't realize that they took the BCS bowls away from the over-the-air networks. ESPN has basically everything now. Notre Dame-Miami Penn State-Florida LSU-Texas A&M These three minor bowls are the only ones not being shown on ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU.
Louisville fell behind by two TDs early, but came back tie to eventually beat Southern Mississippi with a 4th quarter FG, 31-28.
fake punt by Boise, pass to Brotzman, and he drops it. He was wide open for the first down. to go along with missing his last three FGs
yes, 84-yd TD run by Boise State they take the lead also, they are wearing those awesome helmets they wore earlier this season against Virginia Polytechnic
crazy play Moore connected on a pass to pettis, long run after catch, but ball knocked out before receiver got into the end zone as ball was hitting the back line of the end zone, young dove on the ball they're reviewing it ruling on the field of a touchback stands. huge
Cain just makes poor decisions. He won't throw the ball away. This last play, he scrambles out of the pocket, is surrounded by Boise State defenders. Any QB with a clue knows to either throw to an option if it's available, or throw it out of bounds. Cain keeps running sideways and loses 9 yards for no reason. He had ample time to throw it away. because of that play, Utah had to try a FG instead of possibly going for it.
