I've seen a lot of big college football games in my life, but I can't remember many where it seems that every big name guy is stepping up like this. Teams have to be able to lean on their studs in big spots, and they're all responding right now. Lattimore and Jeffrey for SC and Newton and Fairley for the Tigers have all made huge plays tonight.

What's interesting is that, after spending the last few years with a permanent Tebow erection, I just heard Gary Danielson call Cam Newton the most dominant player he's seen in 20 years watching college football.

That said, I agree with his point - either vote for the guy for the Heisman, or abstain.

She also promoted Cam Newton's "Cammy Cam Juice", proceeded to taste it, and then make a face and say it was too sweet for her. All while he and his teammates cracked up in the background. The ever so esteemed journalistic position of sideline reporting took a big step back today.

a lot of fumbles/muffs in the Big 12 Championship.

Helu just fumbled on the second play of a drive, OU recovered, and Jones threw a TD on the next play.

The XP will tie it at 17...

on the replay, he may have been down inside the 1, but even if they overturn this, the chances of a TD are pretty high.

    first drive of second half:

Nebraska again fumbles in their own territory, and again loses the fumble

Man I know its Washington St but Locker just nailed a beautiful endzone throw with 44 seconds left to get a GW TD drive to Kearse to take the 31-24 lead. Huskies look to go bowl eligible and I hope so to see Locker for one last time in college at a bowl game.

UConn makes a 52 YD FG and are on the verge of now making a BCS Bowl for the 1st time with a 19-16 lead right now.

Well with that seems like the Irish go from Champs Bowl to Sun Bowl now....

WVU should grab the Champs Bowl spot, and ND will grab the Sun Bowl and in all likelihood face the Miami Hurricanes in what should be a very fun game. Ja. Harris is inconsistent but man that kid when on is a beast.

ND/MIA in what is is a big name/underachieving play bowl game.

Nebraska's passing offense was a mess today.

Still, Nebraska would've won save for the constant fumbling.

OU takes it 23-20 and goes to a BCS Bowl.

Back to back years Nebraska loses the Big 12 title by a narrow margin, and now they depart the Big 12.

That was an absolute demolition in the 2nd half by Auburn. The entire game changed on that hail mary at the end of the half. Can't believe nobody on CBS even questioned it at the half but why on earth with a QB with as strong of an arm as Newton would you squib kick it there? I guess good old Verne was too busy swallowing a load of Cammy Cam Juice.

That being said Oregon and Auburn is finally a game we all want to see which of course it means it won't live up to the hype.

BTW it looks like Boise and Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl... earlier in the week it looked like we'd get Utah vs Toledo.... fuck that.

The NCAA used to record sack plays as rushing attempts. I think they were still doing it that way a few years ago and maybe still are. Back in the day the NFL also used to record times tackled while attempting to pass as rushing attempts. Sometime in the 1960s that practice was switched and then sacks were charged against offenses in their passing yardage.

I know Mr E loves Hawaii but apparently Hawaii will be extended an invite to join the MWC sometime in the next week. This is a football only move and Hawaii will place their other sports in the Big West. Rumor has it that because of the awful TV contract we have Utah State will be forced in and Utep will also be invited giving the conference 12 football members. I don't have any interested in adding Utah St nor Utep. They bring nothing except another mouth to feed.

Cakes, yeah, college counts sacks against a QB's rushing stats.

Martinez was getting sacked again and again, often for big losses.
