How does he not have better #s? Cotch averages 9.1 for his career and Holmes 8.0

This sucks. But, this is the kind of trial by fire that the secondary needs to step up. Wilson and Lowery have to prove themselves. Smith filled in nicely for Rhodes last season, let's hope he can do it again.

Worst part of this is from a communication stand point. Hopefully Harris and Scott can fill the void. This is a tough team, I'm positive they will work through this. Sucks for Jim though!

I see some people are freaking out like this is the end of the season or something. Sure it sucks, but this isn't going to break us guys. Rex has overcome worse losses than this on the defensive side of the ball. I think he actually relishes in the challenge of overcoming the loss of key players.

Ihedigbo now gets more PT which I don't think is a bad thing.

We beat NE w/ Revis, pace and holmes, we can beat them w/o Jim.

    That's what worries me.

The communication has be perfect on Monday or else someone is going to let a receiver walk free.

Everyone better step up their game. This couldn't have happened at worse time in the regular season.

    Because Holmes fumbles more.

Not only that Rex has said Smith is calling the plays now. WTF??

This blows!!! The non-injury talk this week was a jinx, I feel responsible.

they are not, not at all ... but when using the fair catch properly, a lot of muffed punts are fallen on by the muffee, hence why he lost one of those fumbled punts ... ill take the occasional muffed punt (being that you have a good chance of recovering it) for the occasional big punt return any day

Talk about luck, Pats keep facing teams with key injuries.

This ruined my fuckin day. We still got this win though.

10% of the time is a bit more than "occasional" when referring to touches/fumbles ratio IMO.

Keep Wilson back there. They need to explain to him he's more of a caretaker at this point in the year at PR. He needs to just calm down, and take care of the ball, team should be fine there.

Wilson scares me. Like junc, I'd rather see Cotchery fielding most of our punts.

I think in terms of or whole season, it's not THAT big of a loss, so I can agree with you there.

But for this game, it's a huge loss. It just sucks that the signal caller of the D goes down so late in the week, after the gameplan has already been established, right before our biggest game.

Chrebet Syndrome is also taken into account with some overreactions.

I get scared too. I think he's trying to do too much. He's solid catching the ball, and that's what they need.

Cotchery is the answer. But, how healthy is he? I tore my groin once, it's not an easy rehab.
