And if he plays poorly you'll blame it on him being late to an interview because he was too busy studying for the game??
The point is, no one knows why he was a no show (not late, by the way) for a charity event, which is the question. I doubt he missed an entire event because he was studying film. I think his teammates, who were involved with the charity, would have known that, no? I'm certainly not saying he blew it off for something frivolous, just saying we don't know and it's strange to upset your OL and their charity, that's all.
I'm surprised by how idiotic this post his. Who cares? I could give a shit about the guy's character, just win baby!
How could missing a charity event possibly correlate to playing poorly? The first example you gave showed he was putting extra work into the game this week and the second has zero impact on the amount of work he's putting in, unless possibly he was putting extra work in. Personally, I'd rather he didn't do any charity events this week. From the sounds of it they turn into booze fests anyway.
Tom Brady is even more distracted this week getting hair implants, promoting UGG boots, and seeing his wife naked for the first time, on the internet..
Okay, c'mon now. I'm just hoping he's not overextending himself during a crucial part of the season - that's all. If he missed (not cancelled, just didn't show up, mind you) a scheduled charity event then it would stand to reason that he has a lot going on right now. There was mention of being stuck in an interview with ESPN - that's the sorta stuff I mean. He clearly wasn't at the facility studying film Monday night if a car was waiting for him to be picked up and his teamates didn't know where he was. I obviously don' care what he was doing at all, as long as his head isn't going in ten different directions. How many times have you heard coaches preach mid-week focus??? That's all I'm concerned with.
I didn't know Monday was mid-week. I understand your concern I just don't think it's really warranted. From all we've heard about Nacho's work ethic it's really one of the last things I'm concerned with.
Okay, so maybe not mid-week, but they were in on Monday because they had the weekend off. And I agree 100% about the rest you mentioned, which is why this caused me to raise an eyebrow in the first place.
A car being at his house means he wasn't at the facility watching film? The flawed logic there is why this is being dismissed. It isn't particularly good that he flaked on a commitment but the commitment he flaked on has no correlation to his preparation for the game... unless he flaked because he was too consumed with preparing for the upcoming game.
By the way, the only reason I posted that article was because I hadn't seen it here and wanted to see if others might have thought about it the the way I did. If the answer is no, than I am indeed more paranoid than other fans - although I thought a whole lot of us still worried about each and every game like the old days! Nice to actually see more and more people (younger, I'd guess) with a better attitude toward the team, I have to say.
I hear you. I still say the O linemen would have known if he were doing something football related though, but I hope you're right and he is indeed focused this week. Didn't seem focused last week at all.
i think its stupid to try and connect the dots here, but i think its perfectly reasonable to assume that he spent extra time at practice and was late to his espn shoot, so he was at the shoot when he was supposed to be somewhere else regardless, i dont think ive ever heard anyone voice concern over sanchez's commitment to the game before, so why care about charity stuff? i doubt hes missing team stuff to shoot promos. the extra promos are probably what is making it hard for him to make it to all of his extracurricular activities...
