I can't say enough about TWD....fucking love it. Like others have mentioned...it sucks the 1st season is only 6 episodes....waiting for season 2 to materialize is gonna be painful.
Sort of SPOILER ALERT I just rewatched the episode and there's still one thing that bothered me, which bothers me in every zombie movie: the ability for a zombie to sneak up on someone FROM IN FRONT OF THEM. Aside from that, fucking epic.
Yeah...the zombies are all slow n shit until they are like 3 feet in front of you then they move like a humming bird...
Just watched last week's episode.....wow, this show just keeps getting better. I only wish there were more shows this good.
what an excellent episode...The music they also used when they drove to the CDC was EPIC It was used in the movie Sunshine...I love this show...The human emotion reminds me alot of LOST. Can't wait for this show to keep going every week
Well, it turns out I don't know as much about the story as I thought. The writers have gone in a completely different direction than the comic. It's awesome. Great fucking show...can't wait 'til next week.
http://www.deadline.com/2010/11/walking-dead-hits-another-high/ On a related note...Its funny to see some die hard TWD fans on other forums bitch about the direction the show is going in and how it is different from the comics sometimes. Still need to read the comics myself though
Yeah, I'm baffled, but certainly not disappointed. When they came back from commercial to show the guy working in the lab, I checked the channel guide to make sure I was still watching AMC. It's pretty interesting that Kirkman gave Darabont so much creative license. He's still writing the book; Darabont could be trampling over his future plot lines. I read somewhere that Kirkman refuses to read World War Z while he's writing TWD so that his writing won't be influenced. I wonder if he's boycotting viewing his own show for the same reason.
Such great stuff. As a LOST fanatic, I couldn't help but think of Desmond and the hatch when they showed the CDC stuff. Even my wife loves this show. She tried to turn some of her friends on to it and one said, "I tried to like it, but it's just gross."
The guys at work and I were discussing this today. One of my buddies asked "Why did the virus spread?" Basically it spread because of human emotion, what we've seen so far illustrates this. We've seen a man who couldn't kill his zombified wife, a sister who couldn't leave her sibling's side, even after infection, a group of men returning into danger to look for supplies and another's sibling, and last but not least the virus spread because of HOPE. They left the man alive in the camper because there may be a cure at the CDC. People are more willing to let their loved ones walk around in a perpetual zombie state rather than to put the period at the end of their life because of the hope there could be a cure and tragically they only will continue the infectious cycle.
I agree with most of this, but Andrea didn't leave her sister's side because she wanted to apologize to her one last time. The story about the missed birthday parties explained that. ...and she wanted to be the one that ended her.
^ Valid point, she tricks the viewer because we think she's the typical idiot in all zombie movies who tries to will their loved one back and then they are killed by the loved one. She wants to be "there" for her in her final moment. Ironically "there" means putting a .45 through her head. I guess my question is (someone brought this up before), when she was holding her hands on her sister's bite wound, doesn't the infected blood get under your finger nails and infect you? Someone at work said something about the preview for next week addressing this...my DVR cut the previews off.
POSSIBLE SPOILER From what I saw in the preview for the finale, the CDC guy was taking blood from Andrea, saying something about her being infected, and Rick was saying she couldn't be infected, and then it showed Andrea in a shower.
The season finale is tonight. I'm pretty excited to see where the writers are going because it's definitely not the same as the comics.
