Funny how these things always have a flip side. I'm actually relieved Johnson dropped it as I dropped him from my team this week. Bad enough that I was caught out by the early start to the Thanksgving games and didn't get round to putting Welker back in, without having Johnson getting good stats as well!!
The Bills can play a huge role in whether or not we can win the AFC East. In week 16, they battle the Pats at home, a game where I really think they can pull one off.
who was relying on them to win? I turned it on and hoped they would win to help the Jets out, but was never relying on them to. Doubt any Jets fan went into today relying on that desired outcome
This. It's the Bills. Counting on them to help us is like counting on a gun pressed to your head to misfire.
I woke up this morning realizing that this Sunday, and next Sunday, are the two consecutive Sundays where I can watch the rest of the league, stress free, knowing the Jets aren't on until next Monday. I had some games on, but I got other things done around the house today, which was great to be able to do. The Bills did put a damper on my afternoon though.
yeah, nobody gives a fuck about your fantasy football. we're talking real football and how the games effect the actual season we are here to discuss. but even so, since you dropped him prior, you weren't effected whether he caught it or not, so there is no flip side to your argument to where you benefited by him dropping it.
What happens to any other team in the AFC other than the Pats means absolutely nothing. We either beat out the Pats for the division and get a 1st round bye or we'll be a wild card team playing on the road in week 1 of the playoffs. The Ravens and Steelers are in the same situation.

It is unlikely, but being the #5 versus #6 seed can mean hosting the conference championship game (if both wild cards make it). Also, it is possible that the Jets could win the division with a 13-3 (or even 12-4) record, so losses today by Baltimore and Pittsburgh would have increased the chances that if the Jets won the division they would do it as the #1 seed, guaranteeing only home games in the playoffs if they kept winning.
That may have been the worst dropped pass I've ever seen....even Jackie Smith from Staubach in the Super Bowl had his timing off because he thought the pass would be harder. Johnson had the ball in his hands...clear of the defender.....legs not tangled....no need to get feet in bounds....had the ball IN HIS HANDS.....and it was like he opened up his hands early for whatever reason. Almost like he wanted to spike the ball before catching it or had a bet riding on Pitt. If you haven't seen the play, see it.....LITERALLY without any HYPERBOLE, the Bills QB couldn't hand the ball off to a better spot. I don't know how it could have bounced out....he had it cushioned against his hands and chest to minimize bounce.....both hands on the ball.....unreal.
Look - you take help any place and any way you can get it. The Steelers losing this game, as they should have, only helps the Jets. There is nothing wrong with relying on other teams. Anybody who calls the Jets lucky after this game is ridiculous. The Bills had this game won three or four times. First a pass is dropped on the goal line with 4 minutes left and deflects right to Palamalu. Then the Bills kick returner trips over a shoelace returning the OT kickoff. Then Big Ben fumbles on the Steeler one foot line only to get the ball back. Then Johnson drops the TD pass. That win was Patriotesque.
Steve Johnson was probably tweeting while running to catch that ball..."THANK YOU FOR DOING ME LIKE THIS...I AM GOING TO WIN THIS--CHOKE!"
