Folk scares me every time he lines up, he missed another kick and almost mised a PAT. W/ taylor providing no pass rush the decision to let feely go to sign Taylor is looking like a bad one. Hopefully it doesn't bit us in January.

I can't say I'm 100% confident in Folk, but I don't know that Feely would be any different. There's very few kickers in the NFL that I'd be 100% confident on a 45 yard try these days.

I'm happy with Jason Taylor so far. No one was expecting him to light the world on fire. The Jets needed him to bring some pressure and make plays. He's done that. He was worth his weight to me when he sacked Brady forcing the fumble.

Just waiting now for the garbage time comments now.

The problem with folk is it seems as though he can't rid the demons out of his head.
I don't think there are many people now that have 100% confidence in him, even on PATs which, lets face it should be automatic, especially kicking off a carpet.
Not going to get into the whole Feeley Vs Folk thing, but I never feared Feeley missing, even though he did miss a few.

JT is exactly as advertised. I'm happy with the contribution that hes made.

Yes, w/ a whopping 4. he's on pace for 6. I don't think that's what was expected when we signed him and it's not just the sacks. he's not getting any pressure, if he was harrassing the QB that would be ok but he's not getting close.

I think that's the problem with the majority of kickers. I don't really see any better options out there, so he's the man as far as I'm concerned.

Are you saying he's done a good job as a pass rusher?

You're right, he hasn't been great at getting after the QB but he did a nice job filling in for Pace while he was out with the injury

I think you had your expectations higher for Taylor than I did.

He also batted down two passes and also took out Pace's blocker on Calvin's sack. I think the guy has played about as good as we expected him to.

That being said Folk is garbge and it's showing. I liked Feely but Folk has made some long kicks that woud have been out of Jay's range.

At least he is making plays in the run game and knocking down passes but yeah, we were all kind of hoping we would see glimpses of the speed rush he had in his Miami days but father time has taken its toll. Hes still a solid player. If we can get after Brady like we did Palmer, i think we have a good shot at beating NE.

If 5-6 sacks and no pressure on the QB was the expectation then why would we allow the best K we have had probably ever walk away to sign Taylor?

I expected around double digit sacks and some pressure on the QB, not outrageous expectations considering he would be a situational pass rusher.

He has exceeded expectations w/ everything except rushing the passer, the problem is he was brought here to rush the passer.

The problem is nobody can rush the passer on this team not just Taylor. JT is still our best pass rusher and his leadership role can not be forgotten as well. I heard he's teaching Gholston a few dance moves for Vern's next career...

Double digit sacks? Come on now, that's a lil unreasonable, esp for as you say a situational pass rusher.

Not a lot of talk from Rex or the coaches about Folk. We'll have to see what Westhoff says about it. There is only so many times you can compare him to a three iron, before it starts getting old.

Doesn't matter, we're stuck with him for the rest of the year. Hopefully he will make enough of them so it doesn't hurt us too bad. You know there is a game ahead though were he will mess a 32 and a 45 yarder. Just hope it isn't next Mon.

Calvin Paceis our best pass rusher but he does other things besides rush the passer.

10 sacks was not asking alot for a guy just playing on passing downs, he's not wearing down playing as many snaps as he used to. Again, the sack # isn't the most important thing. if he was harrassing the QB I'd be ok w/ 5 sacks for the year but he's not getting any pressure.

The Feely over Taylor crowd can seriously go get bent. As a pure pass rusher he has been a disappointment. As everything else he has been solid and contributed a hell of a lot more than the 2 or 3 extra kicks Feely MAY have made compared to Folk. How many screens and other short passes has he blown up in the last two weeks by knocking those passes down?

Folk looks like he needs to be cut but that doesn't change my stance on Taylor over Feely. I wouldn't trade that type of presence on our D for any kicker... they all let you down at some point.
