"Soft" part of schedule over

Discussion in 'New York Jets' started by ScotlandJet, Nov 26, 2010.

  1. I think you mean you're a statistically well-below average defense, and we're a statistically above average offense. I've already shown the stats to prove it, which you conveniently ignored, like the moron you are.

well he said at the start of last year he felt like he was at the half way point in his career. he's only 33 so i'm hoping 6-7 years. elway played til he was 38, favre still playing, etc.

even if you are statistically above average on offense, you've played average teams. if matt sanchez played the schedule (to date) that we have had against teams like the steelers, ravens, colts and chargers you would be at or below average.

I'm one of the few Jets fans who respects Brady, and enjoy watching him play when it isnt against us. I hope he has another decade in him. He makes me afraid of this upcoming match-up which I think is the biggest Pats/Jets showdown of my lifetime

  5. Favre is a shell of his former self. You can hope all you want Brady plays until he's 40, but after a devastating knee injury that cost him an entire season, the likelihood is not terribly great you'll get your 6-7 more years.

Then again, you'll ignore that, just like you ignore any facts that show how little you actually know about football.

Yep, our offense moves the ball fine but they break down in the red zone. If they were more efficient in that area this myth that we don't have offense wouldn't exist. They'd also be a couple notches higher in the PPG department.

That said, they have to be better in the red zone this week or it'll tough pulling out a victory.

Our offense is fine, we had 2 bad games- week 1 where Rex was scared of the Baltimroe defense and didn't allow Mark to play and the GB game that was dictated by weather conditions.

  8. Well, the Jets are still sixth in points scored, so while red zone is a concern, it's not debilitating to offensive production.

And dropped passes in the GB game. Holmes catches that crossing route he probably scores.

how is that whether brady may play 6 or 7 years a fact? it's pure speculation at this point. we won't know how long he'll play until he retires.

I like how you conveniently ignore the Cleveland and Denver games. It's been effective, but not all the time. Much like any other formation. Of course it's a trick formation but it works well and generates some big plays. When teams sell out to stop the run as they have been it becomes less effective. The same could be said about our entire run game.

That's why I don't see any problem with the formation. It gets the ball into an explosive playmaker's hands and it has big play potential. Not necessarily TD potential but he's gotten some nice first downs out of it. And at some point they're gonna throw out of the formation and get a huge play.

Convieniently ignore 3 carries for 18 yds against denver?

1st carry got us 1st down on 2nd and 5 which was good, we scored zero pts on the drive

2nd carry gained 7 yds and 2nd and 2, is this a big deal? drive ended w/ FG

3rd carry on a 2nd and 7 he rushed for 3 tds setting up a 3rd and 4 which we missed.

What did the seminole do in that game that was special?

The Cleveland game, 4 carries 23 yds.

    1st carry: 2nd and 1, gains 4 yds, drive ends w/ FG
2nd carry: 2nd and 17, gains 9 yds. Nice play, sets up a 3rd and more manageable, drive ends in TD
3rd carry: 1st and 10, gains 4 yds. drive ends in TD
1st and 10, gains 6 yds, drive ends w/ no pts.

Are those games to crow about? did we do anything out of that formation that was a difference maker?

You don't think opposing D's sold out to stop our run game last year when we had an erratic rookie QB? we still managed to run the ball effectively.

He also passed for a TD out of the formation against Buffalo. 4ypc is fine, IMO, for the way we use the formation. It's not designed to be a game-breaker, but a change of look. It's becoming predictable though, in my view.

Tommy, not changing the subject here but you are putting up a solid d in the face of getting your ass kicked. You need to bring some more of your Pat cheaters buddies over here to even out this debate. This is going to be a long 10 days so get over to Patriot.cheaters.com and bring back your legion.

Junc I don't even know what you're trying to argue. I never said it was anything special. I said it was effective. The few times we used it in both of those games it gained us solid positive yardage. It's something else teams have to prepare for and it puts the ball into a play makers hands.
