This is it THIS IS the game where we need to get back to out top notch defense and back to our old ways of running the ball. it seems like every week Rex says the defense will show up and so will the running game, this week against the Bengals wasn't so bad but with the pats coming up this is our time to show on national TV that the jets are back to their ground and pound eat you alive DEFENSE AND SHUT ALL THOSE CRITICS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN JET HATERS(which is crazy b/c you would think that the jets have been a winning time for the last 10 years ) LETS FUCKING GO JETS
There's been MANY more games with more on the line, if we lose next Monday we're 9-3. Playoffs are still very possible and although we'll probably have the same divisional record as the Pats, it will come down to conference record for the tie-breaker. The Jets are better on the road anyway, so it's not the end of the world. I'm pretty sure the "win-and-get-in" regular season games of recent were more important. Btw, anyone else going Monday night?
The Lions lost by 3 TD's yesterday, but they still put up 400 yards of offense against that sieve the Patriots call a defense. They've given up and average of 28 points a game the last 4 weeks. Holy Crap what a disaster they are on defense. I'm not saying the Pats won't score on us ... but I'm VERY confident we're going to light them up like Chinese New Year. I'll be FLABBERGASTED if we don't score at least 30 on them. I CAN'T WAIT to play this game and shut everybody up.
the teams we have been playing have very good offenses including pitt, indy, san diego. so it is understandable why a young defense would give up a lot of yards to thsoe teams. the jets O on the other hand is probably one of the worse offenses we've faced yet.
Mark is going to have a big game, want to know why? Because it's a big game and we all know how Mark performs in big games
Ummmmm ... no. Get your facts correct. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/total/sort/netYardsPerGame The Jets Offense will actually be one of the better offenses you'll face. Looks like the Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Detriot offenses are all south of us. As are 22 other teams (including New England btw). We put 28 up on you last time and that was without Santonio Holmes. You'll score ... But you won't stop us from scoring.
The Jets are pretty well playoff bound regardless of Monday night. The difference, though, because of the seeding, could be from top seed, bye, and home field throughout and being the fifth seed, traveling to play a far inferior divisional champ from somewhere out west.
Another interesting fact ... Through 11 games, the Patriots have given up 24 points or more 7 times. Think about that ... 7 times in 11 games! The Jets have given up 24 points or more ONCE ... when Houston scored 20 points in the 4th Quarter last week. Despite the numbers, and ignoring the fact that we already beat them by two touchdowns, the "experts" still think the Pats are the better team. I'm sure we'll be underdogs in their house .. But I can't wait to play that game.
Rex Ryan is the only coach with the balls to verbally go after the Pats before facing them. Whatever the result, gotta love Rex.
I believe this game as usual comes down to what Offense and Defense comes out to pay for us. Will it be our DEF from yesterday that dominated the 2nd half or the DEF that let Houston get right back into the game Sunday? As far as offense goes Schotty just needs to come out and attack their secondary with quick slants and screens to set a tempo early to help set up some big plays later on. All we need to do is keep pace with Brady and Co and we should be able to win this one out. I'm predicting 34-24 Jets. But I'm not going to sit here and say that I'm not worried bout losing this one. And anyone on here that does say that is delirious.
I envision two scenarios for playoff seeding to end the season Patriots Ravens Colts Chargers Jets Steelers or Jets Ravens Colts Chargers Patriots Steelers I think we'll either be facing the Chargers away in the first round followed by the Patriots away in the second round or a first round bye followed by the Patriots at home in the second round. That means no matter what, we are facing the Pats in the second round, and honestly, I think these two teams are at the point where being home or away means nothing when they face each other. The biggest question to me would be, is it better to face another team in the first round and be battle-tested for New England in the second OR to get that first round bye to rest our players. After our 9-0 loss to the Packers at home, I'm not so sure a bye is necessarily the best thing for this team. They seem to play better under pressure.
You can score on the Patriots...they allow 24 points a game, have the 30th ranked passing defense in the league, and are avg against the run. The Jets need to score TD and not settle for Red Zone FGs. Keller has to be involved for 4 quarters as it will keep the Pats LBs honest which should open up the running game. Get some short quick passes going to move the chains and pick your shots for down field throws. The Jets get a lot of shit for these "miracle" wins, but the Pats were crushed by the Browns, where tied after 3 qtrs to a Lions team with a backup QB throwing all over them, beat the Colts only after Manning nearly engineered a monster 4th qtr comeback with 3 70+ yard scoring drives, SD basically handed the game to them, and they got to play a steelers team that was so banged up they couldn't protect the QB and Ward got knocked out in the 1st qtr, The only game they have dominated from beginning to end was against Miami...every other game was a game. The Pats can score, but they have to because their defense can't be trusted to seal a zip lock bag let a lone a lead.

Patriots will get their points, Jets will score as well. Key to game in my opinion is Sanchez. If he plays like last night, Jets lose. First game Pats had lead until Sanchez started picking on DB Butler. Butler has barely seen the field since. McCourty has improved a great deal. Holmes will be a problem, but I see Patriots gameplan to be stopping the run and forcing Sanchez to play mistake free football on a cold December night. I see at least 2 picks and a fumble from him and the Pats D hangs on for the win in a 30-27 type of game. Can't wait, should be a violent game.
