I'd much rather the Jets be a team that gets progressively better as the game goes on than a team like the Lions who come out firing on all cylinders and are dead tired by the end of the game.
I have this same conversation with someone every game. I would, of course, prefer that the offense play lights out all game every game but that doesn't happen for anyone. If I have to choose between a fast start and a strong finish I'll take the strong finish every day of the week and twice when we play the Pats.
Let us take a look at this statement This is clearly wrong since we've been getting all the penalties and yet still winning. So, it is clearly possible that we can take so many penalties and win. Do we all wish the number would go down? Sure. Do we wish that BS stuff like the defenseless receiver call would not be called? Sure. I don't want the Jets backing off on plays because they are afraid of flags. I want them playing hard. Playing hard in today's NFL will draw flags. If flags are the price for hard-nosed football then so be it.
Do you guys think that we can stop Brady and the pass attack next week? I mean for Christ's sake, Brady is making f'n Deion Branch look like Jerry Rice out there.
Yes, Id have to say that I admire the way the coaching staff has so prudently managed these close games as of late, but against New England I think it'll be necessary to come out firing a bit. The detroit game, as you mentioned, just went to further validate this.
Well they ran the ball better last night. Both backs had a average of over 4 yards a carry. Exactly. The same old Jets are gone, but the same old Jets fans live on. How the hell does an 8-2 team get booed off the field at halftime down four points. It's the same kind of people who they feel they have to live up to the reputation of the typical sad sack miserable pessimist Jet fan foisted upon them by clowns like Michael Kay and fatty.
We are winning, because the teams we've been playing are not at our talent level. Denver, Cleveland, Detroit, Cincy are not playoff teams by a long shot. Thats why we can fuck up and still pull games out. Against playoff type teams like the Ravens it killed us. Greenbay was more a total offensive failure, but we still had 7. The win against the pats we had 6 for 58 yards. A bit less than our 8.4 a game average. If we keep it up against the better teams in this league its not going to be pretty, or are you saying your happy with being bottom 4 in the league in penalties and penalty yards against? Thats ok with you?
