...the red zone. That's right....now don't get me wrong...the Jets are 8-2 and have the potential to be super bowl champs. What I am very concerned about is our red zone offense....and defense. I feel the Jets move the ball very well on offense and get to the red zone but then wind up kicking field goals way too many times. On defense, while we have one of the best defenses in the league and teams don't get to the red zone often on us...it seems like whenever they DO...they get the touchdown. The red zone offense and defense is what is keeping these games against bad teams closer than they should be....and it would be what worries me most heading into the games against stronger teams. Also, Nick Folk is a joke but we can't really do anything about that right now except pray a playoff game doesn't come down to him making a kick.....because he won't make it....
Our problem is not attacking teams weaknesses and being stubborn to so called jets football and also penalties stalling drives on both sides of the ball. And I can't help thinking it would be better if Cro & Revis swapped assignments.
no no no the jets problem is getting it done in the 1st half which we never do, we're 9-2 so I can't complain much I just hope it doesn't bite us in the ass against good team
The Jets problem is that they haven't put a stake through the heart of all the SOJFs. Maybe they can be exported to Toronto with the Bills.
No but you seem to have a lot of them seeing as your bounding around to every thread you can trolling. Its so sad really. Back on point.... Our problem is putting together a complete game. One side between offense, defense, or special teams seems to take a night off each week. That said we are still winning withy room to improve and thats promising. Lead the fucking league in wins!
reading the posts & responding to them is the purpose someone comes here, I have no IDEA what your definition of "trolling" is.
Really? No idea at all? http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?TrollDefinition Its in the goddamn rules page and exactly what your attempting to do to NDmick all night. He pissed you off so your trying to get him to react by calling him out in every thread you post in. If you have such a big problem with him grow a set and take it to PM's and leave the rest of us out of it.
- Offense takes a while to get into any kind of rhythm / Schottenheimer play calling - Red Zone offense sucks - Penalties - No pass rush A lot of times the penalties lead to the offense not being able to get into rhythm and/or settling for field goals. I think that's the #1 problem with this team all season, the penalties.
Agree. Its seems like its eveery week that I'm bitchign about a hold or block in the back by Edwardsm followed shortly by a personal foul call on Scott. The style we play, defense, ground and pound, special teams providing yardage, is the exact style where we can not take so many penalties. Its been killing us all season.
yawn, the whole purpose of sites like this is to exchange personal thought of what one perceives, I exchanged mine he exchanged his, no harm no foul.
I don't totally disagree with the OP but would just like to point out ... If not for a ridiculous call on Coleman, the Bengals don't sniff the endzone tonight. There honestly wasn't a single minute during this game that I didn't think we were going to win.
We're on a Jets message board, people act as if any criticism directed towards the team is instantly SOJ fan and will hurt Mark Sanchez feelings. I'm with you. Then you have the jerk offs who go from thread to thread thumping their chest and telling people with dissenting opinions to go fuck themselves. When they're right about something they make sure everyone knows it and when they're wrong they make excuses. I'm sure some people have some explaining to do from the Nick Folk thread. BTW Harpua shut the hell up with calling people trolls. Stop flirting with the mods.
I think it was Buttle on the postgame that said by deferring and putting the defense on the field first...the Jet offense constantly gets off to slow starts. Im sure there is something to that. First play on offense, Sanchez gets a pass deflected at the line that would have been a touchdown to Edwards over the middle. From there on..its out patterns....Sideline plays etc. Im not going to bash Schotty...but he gets too cute sometimes and tries to be smarter than he needs to be with the talent on offense. Air it out from the beginning. Screw the ground and pound for once. Show a no huddle to give the Patriots something to think about. Tonite would have been the perfect game with a team loaded with injuries on defense. Put something in the Pats mind whether you do it or dont. Then, with time winding down in the first half, we hurry up and go down the field. Im not sure exactly what they are waiting for to use it. Maybe the Pats?
I'm not sure that getting in a shoot out will be smart against the Pats. Even with their terrible pass D I'd prefer to win ugly with ground and pound.
