I wasn't expecting a response, and I wasn't trying to burn him hard, I was sending him a message that was more receptive to a response than just a sharp burn, which generally goes ignored.
I personally think the quote is being completely taken out of context. All he said was, "Just an average corner to me," which could have in response to a question of how he was planning to go against Revis. It seems like he meant more that he was treating his matchup with Revis like he would with any other corner and no differently. At least that's how I took it.
Preparing for Darrelle Revis as though he's just an average CB when he owned you last season is not the brightest thing in my opinion.
That's fair to say, but take into account the fact T.O. was offended by Revis calling him a slouch, I think he was taking a swipe back.
Yeah, because everyone knows TO always give it his all....the guy never stiff-arms any balls and always goes all out on his routes....also, a great locker-room presence who'd never whisper behind a guy's back.
I'm not defending T.O. at all, he and Moss are notorious hot-doggers. I am just saying I don't think T.O. is being taking out of context on this at all I think he is retaliating for the slouch comment.
No, I wasn't implying you were defending him....I'm just tired of these phonies like Moss, TO, etc, who give their best on about 50% of the plays and then act like you impugn their integrity by saying they don't try as hard as Andre or Calvin Johnson or Larry Fitz. TO views this as a job. He knows if he stays in shape, he can con someone into paying him millions. Where else can he get that kind of payday with his education ?
24 shut down TO(ilet) twice quite averagely last season when he was with the Bills and last week, Andre Johnson (who is about 10 times the receiver TO(ilet) is) was pretty much invisible for 60 minutes vs 24
Skip Bayless just said he thinks that when Revis called T.O. a slouch, it cut a deep wound in T.O. because players always praise him, and he's never really been insulted/humiliated like that. Bayless then said that T.O.'s remarks about Revis were "pathetic." Haha.
