How are we going to stop NE's TE's?

We all know that opposing TE's have been killing us all season, even average ones. NE has a pair of excellent young TE's. What can this defense do to stop them? If we just have Leonard/Pool/Smith on them we are gonna get burned.

We are gonna out-score them this time. Their pass defense ain't all that good either.

A valid question though. Every week when the Jets are being exploited by the great Dreesens of the world, I wonder the same thing to myself and forsee Eric Smith chasing the Pats TE's down the middle of the field. I wonder if Brodney Pool will arrive sometime this year.

Put Wilson on Hernendez and double the Pollock with Lowery and Pool.

Problem with that strategy is the Pats would run all over that defensive alignment. That's what's so tough about NE's 2 TE sets.

I'll take my chances of the Pats "running all over us".

Pretty much every game the Pats have won this season has been a shootout, their outstanding offence is making up for their leaky defence. I have faith in our offence's ability to outscore theirs against the respective D-lines, but it ain't going to be a low-scoring affair.

I agree I'd rather take those chances as well. Just don't really wanna give Brady that effective running game because he's deadly at the PA pass especially to his TE's. Man this is gonna be a tough game. Our D really needs to step up and play it's best game of the year if we're gonna pull off this road win.

Lets see what happened last time...week 2. Patriots scored 2 TDS. Heres why

    -Moss beat Revis

-3rd and 9 Wes Welker dropped the ball but then we got a BS person foul call against Eric Smith which gave the Patriots a first down

Realistically the Patriots had 1 legit TD from Moss and now Moss is gone.

We can handle their TE's. The Browns did it, I might have to rewatch the Browns game. I'm really not to worried. Plus Sanchez will own their secondary again. Their secondary may have improved, but Santonio Holmes has arrived

The Jets play 5 or 6 DB's all the time and no team has run all over us. Revis and Cro take the outside. Wilson Takes the athletic one and we let the other one get his 6 catches for 85 yards and take the W.

Do you really think this is the same NE team that we saw in week 2? Their defense might be weak still but their offense has certainly evolved since they dropped Moss. They did not come out in 2 TE sets very often in that week 2 game against us. Now it's their bread and butter.

Obviously it has changed drastically but I think its even weaker now. We will have to figure out a gameplan to stop 2 TE's. Rex Ryan told his brother everything on how to stop the 2 TE's and it worked very well. Can we replicate it with our players? I would hope so.

Thats a 5 DB allignment. So we would drop 1 LB from the package, pick your LB, they all are good run stoppers, but not necessarily the best pass rushers.

The Pats run game is terrible, and we have a top run d for a reason. the other guys are very good at what they do.

Wilson, Lowery, Pool + Leonard, Cro and Revis seems like 6 DB's to me. I'm assuming we will indeed have 2 safety's in the game? I still think it's tough to stop the run with 6 DB's no matter how good our run D is.

The key to this game might be getting Lowery back healthy. He can take care of a tight end.

Nothing for nothing, the make up of the line up against the Pats is going to be different than it was against the Texans. I think every DB (defensive back, not douchebag) in the tri-state area will be activated.

The Pats do not have an Arian Foster. I think the Jets will be ok with Lowery and Coleman on Gronkowski and Hernandez.

BTW, I was reading that Hernandez (19 of 60+ snaps) isn't getting much playing time because the Pats are max protecting Brady. Lets see if they do this against the Jets.
