These last three weeks have really amounted to Mark Sanchez the apprentice's master work, as he becomes Mark Sanchez the Journeyman. And it culminated with the two last throws he made against Houston, particularly the pass to Braylon Edwards. That was the prettiest pass I can remember in a long time. That Sanchez made that throw really made me believe he is gonna be a great one.

Both safeties on that play were going to the post pattern Brad Smith was running. I don't see Sanchez pump to him, but he MUST have been eye fucking him. There's no other reasonable explanation for them to leave the sidelines unmanned in that situation.

I'm not going to take anything away from that play but they are the worst team in the league against the pass for a reason.

I understand that, but we're talking about basic, fundamental situational safety play.

yeah I think your right that Sanchez probably did move them with his eyes. If you look at the guy on Edwards side he is totally turned around by the entire thing. He had committed hard to the middle of the field.

Funny thing is that watching it a few more times just now Smith was covered very well by the corner.

I think the pass to Braylon in the MNF game against the Dolphins in MIA last year was prettier. Sanchez starts the play looking the opposite side of the field, pumps, then turns on a dime and throws it the other direction to Braylon. The pass was thrown only at a point where Braylon could catch it because he was pretty well covered, and BE made a sick jumping twisting catch and managed to cross the pylon, but the refs wrongly ruled him down at the 1.

When you add in the importance of this throw it's not even close.

That was one of the best catches I've ever seen though on that MNF game.

    Agreed

I actually got more excited about that throw than the actual TD. Because once i saw that he caught it, i knew we were going to win

actually he was down before crossing the goal line, in regular speed it looks like it's a TD but when you watch it in slow-mo it's clear he was down before getting in...either way it was BEAUTIFUL & they scored a TD on the next play anyway.

Jason Allen has been one of the Jets' most effective players this season.

This. I dont usually do it but for some reason I followed that pass the entire way and knew it was going to connect. I'm not gonna call it best in Jets history, but it might be best in awhile.

haha so true....so true. I wouldn't mind seeing him a few more times this season. Remember when there was a "debate" between ours and Miamis secondary this off-season? comedic stuff that was

After two weeks they were telling anyone who would listen that Davis and Allen were both shut down on Finheaven. It was pretty funny then but it's hilarious now.

Just watched the NFL replay of the game and they showed Sanchez's commentary and he said that Braylon did a great job of sticking with the play because he was looking inside the whole time.

Santonio said that he was more surprised at the throw than he was Edwards getting open. Nice little slam on the Houston secondary.

And I had to go out on Sunday afternoon so I missed everything after 23-10. Even though I knew it was coming that last drive and the crowd going nuts gave me goosebumps.
