It's amazing how a few late game comebacks and going 8-2 can color your perception of a guy. The 13 less INTs than he had last year is obviously a big deal but his stats are virtually identical otherwise. Before I looked it up I would've sworn that the Jets were making many more "big plays" in the passing game this year but again it's almost the same, 35 vs 34 over 20 yards and 9 vs 8 over 40 yards.
are you stupid? or just retarded? NONE of his stats are identical except the completion percentage. he threw 12 TD passes last year. he has 15 now. his TD and INT ratio went from 1:2 to 2:1 he also has close to as many yards as he threw all of last season and has 3, 3 TD games and 2 300 yard passing games. and he had zero 4th quarter comeback victories last season. he has 4 now...in the last 5 games
He has about 140 yards less passing this year in ten games than he had all of last year. He has more touchdowns in ten games already than last year. On raw numbers what you're saying makes no sense, let alone what you can see from watching the kid. And by the way, if an 8-2 record and late game comebacks DON'T color your perception of the guy then you're fucking blind.
It was a poorly thrown ball but it turned out to be a great play for us pinning Detroit inside their 5.
I have never felt a deflected pass that results in an INT should be charged to the quarterback. It should count as an "indirect interception" for defensive stat purposes, but it should not be assigned to the quarterback whatsoever. Only passes directly caught by a defender should be logged as an INT against a QB.
That stuff evens out, forevery tipped ball INT(who knows, it may have been the QBs fault anyway) there are dropped INTs by defenders.
If your point is that he really should have less Ints because they weren't his fault - that's a bogus argument because it goes both ways. He's had a bunch of bad passes that should have been picks but weren't. IMO, statistically his current Int numbers are 100% accurate
I think maybe you meant his pic against the Browns was a blessing because it pinned them at like the 2 yard line which was as good as Weatherford coming out and punting it.
Just to elaborate.... In the 11 "non-implosion" games last year 10 TD's 5 INT's Playoffs 4 TD's 2 INT's This year 15 TD's 7 INT's Outside those 4 abortion games, he's been a 2/1 TD/INT QB.
The lions pick put them on the 1 yard line, set up a punt from their 5. And I stand by my belief that it was a stupid throw. Bad throw as well, but Holmes was double covered. Would've been a highlight catch if the throw had been on the mark, so it was a physical mistake that never should've been thrown there IMO. But that's the chance you take with the deep ball sometimes. Cleveland same thing. Under-thrown, but a better decision than the Detroit one if you ask me. It's all nit-picking. He's made great decisions for the most part all year. Nothing even close to the one last year against New England, backed up on our own five, scrambling for nothing when he could have handed it off to our sideline to throw it away, and instead lobbed up a prayer right to them.
I didn't know Folk got a commercial? WIN One game would change his entire stat-line for his career. Buffalo. 5 ints. There's not much more to say. Take that game out and he's go a much more reasonable line for his a career. I wasn't a Sanchez fan when he came on but I expected a bumpy ride while he developed. He's definitely played above my expectations as well as everyone else. No need to complain about Mark anymore. His "stats" will pick up more as he develops. I'm more concerned about Wins. If he throws 3 picks a game, and they are all stripped/fumbled and run back for a TD, that's fine by me.
That would be a tough call then. If we look at it that we, the NFL would need to create a second category called "dropped ints" and possibly "dropped indirect ints".
Not really. If the defender drops a live ball it isn't counted anyway, so all they would need to do is split the current INT stat into two new categories called "Direct INT's (DINT) and Indirect INT'S (IINT). It just seems wrong for a QB to be assigned a negative stat when he had nothing to do with it.
I mean the QB throws the ball, it bounces off the recievers chest/hands and is then intercepted by a defender and somehow the quarterback is responsible for that??? The NFL really needs to look into changing this rule because it can have a serious impact on a QB's future when he himself has no direct control over the outcome.
