Eh. He didn't look too good out there when he replaced Woody. Hopefully he's been working with the #1's this week to prepare for Cincy just in case.
I think Woody should sit this one out. We'll need him more for the Pats game than this one. Let him rest up for the division showdown up in New England.
they usually have off on tuesdays but not this week because the game is thursday. i'm sure there is some mandated day off thursday or something and then again next tuesday so the players union stays happy...
3rd thread it's in but important I guess. "RichCimini Rich Cimini #Jets RT Damien Woody (knee) not practicing. Don't expect him to play Thursday. Told he has legit sprain."
Hunter's a decent backup, and the coaching staff likes him. But when he was going one-on-one with Mario Williams, a lot of starting tackles would be on the losing end of that matchup.
Probably good to take a conservative approach. Hopefully this will open up some opportunities for big Vlad to get some more experience. Hunter was not exactly lighting the world in fire with his performance Sunday.
You're right, he could hardly have had someone worse to go against and he was coming into the game cold, whilst Williams was on fire. If he plays, who will he be against this Thursday?
Let's see... He'll have a better grasp of Sanchez's cadence. It will allow him to get on the same page with his help on the right side: Brandon Moore and the fullbacks/running backs. I know he's had some first team reps as a blocking tight end, but right tackle is different. A few days with the first team offensive line will help him a lot. He's been in the league for a while now - he should be able to pick things up quickly. Did you guys not see who he had to block? It's Mario fuckin' Williams...one of the best defenders in the league. If I'm not mistaken, Woody got beat by him multiple times too. Give Super Mario credit.
It will also give the coaching staff time to gameplan some help for him. TE's chipping on thier way out, TE's and backs kept in to block. Ect.
"D Woody has an MCL injury, no structural damage. There is some Swelling. Coach Ryan says he has a better chance of playing than 89"
After seeing that play he got hurt on, if he only misses one game against a 2-8 team (only because it's on a short week no less) and then has 10 days to rest up for the Pats game, that is a HUGE HUGE HUGE blessing for us. I'm sure we all thought he was done when we saw that replay.
