yeah just missed the ball only because Vick bobbled it..if it wasn't bobbled he isn't even close to the ball. The Giants impressed me in limiting vick's rushnig, but the Eagles allowed the Giants to stick around with dropped passes all over the field and a bad overthrow of a wide open Jackson early on
I think ALL baeball talk is fucking boring. This is what I hate most about being in NYC, these radio shows always want to discuss baseball. It's freakin football season! Rant over (and not directed at you, btw)
Because as we all know = Greene - "all he does is fumble" while Bradshaw is as sure handed as they come. Could the guy be any more biased? Why doesn't he just admit that he loves the G-men and hates the Jets?
C'mon now, he never called Bradshaw sure handed. But the difference in the way he handles the Giants shortcomings and ours is pretty amazing. I wonder if he treats them with kidd gloves out of fear that they'll shut him out too and go sign an exclusive deal with ESPN.
Caller just asked him how it was luck that Sanchez threw a perfect pass to Braylon. Mike's stumbling....
Some asshat named Artie is ripping Rex for chest-bumping Holmes after his first TD and that Sanchez will never be Manning or Brady because he does helicopter spins as his TD celebrations. And Tank let him ramble for 2 minutes.
Yup. And Chunky ended with his misguided theory, that the Jets don't realize they have work to do. That they are fooling themselves. Again, THIS is the problem with what Francesa has spun out there today. Not that the defense didn't get the job done. No one is denying that. The issue is him never mentioning the Jets ACKNOWLEDGING that they have work to do, need to get the D fixed, are embarrassed by D's performance and are not "fooling themselves" into thinking that they are a perfect team. I guess Tom Coughlin doesn't do anything on the sideline, right? He remains completely staid and doesn't celebrate? I have seen Belichek celebrate BIG TIME with guys, with high fives, hugs and yes, a Bruschi chest bump of sorts in the past. This is Chubby's worst nightmare. The Jets being right about Holmes, being right about Tomlinson, and winning games that Slobby wants to believe they will always lose, because they are the Jets.
Bingo... that is exactly it. Throw in the Giants have been exposed the last two weeks. It's amazing nobody every questions who they beat to get those 6 wins yet when they need to step up in competition they fall on their face. I never bought into the talk that they were the best team in the NFC. I would have taken Green Bay,Atlanta New Orleans and the Eagles over them 3 weeks ago and I'll do it now.
His lack of access to the team really shows these days. He probably doesn't even switch to SNY after the game to watch the full press conferences. He's spouting without really knowing. Pretty lame...
Someone just questioned the teams the Giants beat. Tank: "Yeah, but they beat the Bears.." Caller: "Yea..." Tank: "And they beat the Texans by 24 points who the Jets barely beat yesterday." And now we get to hear about how the Giants are suffering from injuries.
Sure is. And has been for some time. He hasn't had a Jet on in almost a year. For the last few weeks before this one, he had the Jets opponent's coach on. In NYC. For him to say he doesn't have a personal grudge with the team is laughable. THAT'S what I would love to hear someone ask him. Hey Mike, if you don't have a grudge and a bone to pick with the team, why is it you haven't had one Jet on your show in over a year, but you have their opponents coach on the week of a game? How is that possible? You have Mets on, you have Yankees on, you have Knicks on, you have Nets on. You have Sam Rosen for the Rangers and you had Chris Botta on about the Isles last week. But not ONE Jet in over a year, and this is a team that was in the AFC Championship game last year? How do you explain that? Jets come on every other show on the station but yours. I heard Brad Smith on with RICHARD NEER for God sakes, but you can't get one Jet? Its personal Chubby. You don't like Rex. Wonder what he would say then.
It's not his choice. My understanding is the Jets got pissed off because they thought he was biased last year (or just didn't like his Rex rants) and signed an exclusive contract with espn. So he's stuck between a rock and a hard place...
How can they have an exclusive contract with ESPN, and allow Jerricho Cotchery to be on weekly with Joe and Evan? How does Richard Neer get Brad Smith on a Saturday afternoon 3 weeks ago? There is no exclusive contract. Players outside of Ryan and Sanchez, who have paid exclusive deals with ESPN can go on any show they want.
Great post. Perhaps Fatty needs to be reminded that there's a paper called the NY Post:http://www.nypost.com/f/print/sports/jets/defense_missing_kill_mentality_IOrrDGVACukOZSd9QxFZxN Jets defense missing 'kill mentality' By MARK CANNIZZARO Last Updated: 10:04 AM, November 22, 2010 Posted: 12:10 AM, November 22, 2010 The Meadowlands crowd was in a state of utter bedlam as the Jets completed their 30-27 comeback victory over the stunned Texans. Afterward, half of the Jets’ locker room was euphoric. The other half quietly dressed with conflicting emotions. The offense won the game. The defense did almost everything it could to give the game away. As he dressed quietly by himself, linebacker Calvin Pace’s lips were nearly quivering as he talked about the defense allowing 20 unanswered fourth-quarter points to the Texans, who erased a 23-7 deficit and took a 27-23 lead. “There are some things I want to say, but it’s not right to say,” Pace said cryptically. “We just don’t have to make it that hard. We don’t need something like this to come back and bite us in our [butt]. You never know. Next time we might not be as fortunate to pull it out.” Indeed, the Jets’ defense, which was a force last season, has not been the same this year. A week ago, it allowed the Browns and their rookie quarterback, Colt McCoy, to drive down the field, tie the game and send it into overtime. “I don’t get it, man,” Pace said. “We’ve got guys [on the Texans] running free. It doesn’t have to be this hard. We’re missing that kill mentality. Great teams stomp a team out and leave no doubt. “To me it doesn’t feel good. We’re better than that and we should be doing better than that. We need to have that come-to-Jesus moment and need to say this is not good enough.” As Rex Ryan stood at the podium to begin his postgame press conference, a fan from outside the glassed-in interview room yelled, “Where’s the defense?” Ryan, trying to make light of it, said, “It wasn’t very good, but it was good enough.” Make no mistake, though, Ryan is ticked off at his defense, talking about his team’s “issues finishing games.” “I’m concerned about how we’re playing mentally,” Ryan said. “This is the time [of year] where you tighten things up in that fourth quarter. We have to look long and hard at it. We have to fix it and we have to fix it fast.” The Jets inexplicably allowed backup tight end Joel Dreessen, who entered the game with 15 catches for 215 yards, to catch four passes for 106 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown on which no one covered him. “We put ourselves in bad situations, and [the Texans] found them,” safety Jim Leonhard said. “It’s just not smart football. You get a big lead like that, you have to change a way you’re calling a game, change how aggressive you are calling it and we didn’t do that and it should have gotten us beat today. “Our defense played bad enough for us to lose. We’re lucky we snuck out of here with a win again, but we have too much to correct to get too excited about this.”
Cotchery is on with Joe and Evan every week, and Bart Scott was on with them last week, so Jets do actually appear on the Fan, just not on Fatty's show. Wonder why?
Bradshaw has lost five fumbles this year; I assume he's fumbled more than that. Greene has fumbled three times. Wouldn't it be more accurate for Fatty to say that all Bradshaw does is fumble?
