That was the greatest play of his career.

 

I told my father at the time that this board would have melted down if had actually gotten that sack.

It was a legitimately good play - I feel bad for him that it seems like he's simply not going to ever get a sack, no matter what he does.

 

He was sooo clossee to a sack, i woulda went nuts the whole section would of roared.

 

It's fucking pathetic that this motherfucker still doesn't have a sack and were celebrating a goddam QB pressure. :rofl2:

 

It's funny we treat Gholston like he's a little child playing little league and we're the parents of the other kids.. "ohhhh almost had it there, good try Vernon! You'll get em next time!!"

Seriously though, I was glad to see him actually make a contribution. Maybe Rex isn't just blowing smoke, maybe Vernon really is getting a lot better and contributing more than we think.

 

I think he's showed everything he's got.. which ain't much. I bet one of the TGG posters could have lined up at OLB and gotten to the QB more than Gholston has in the past 3 years. He has what.. 3 QB pressures his whole career?

 

He's a DE now, sacks aren't the most important part of his position now, although it would be nice.

 

That's true, but even a subpar passrushing prospect gets the occasional push regardless of scheme. VG has done jackshit pretty much all season outside of that QB pressure.

 

You're absolutely right. And when I said I feel badly for him, well, not really - somehow I expect that he'll be able to console himself with his millions.

 

i shit myself when they announced who had the pressure. he looked way too fast and fluid to be the ghost. im still convinced it wasnt him.

What was funny is that he wants a sack so bad it looked like he was trying to get the ref to call in the grasp after the play was over.

I liked that he slapped the guy's hands down, then it took him a beat before he realized what the next step was. I'm still behind him. I mean, look at him, a colecovision with that body should be at least average.
