Why is this still an issue? I told you guys that I spoke to a high school team and no one believed me. That's the end of the story.

There's no place in the league for people like Rex Ryan! The league needs to be filled with upstanding citizens like Michael Vick and Marvin Harrison!

He was under the limit. Not only is this not Jets news, it shouldn't be news at all. Just like Edwards, he should be playing. Unlike Edwards, he shouldn't face any legal penalty. Still hoping Edwards only gets a fine and no impact on his probation status in Ohio.

This is mostly about how Dungy was saying anyone who is under the influence needs to be suspended. He has been noticably silent when it's not a Jet.

it may not be drunk for you, but if it impairs someone as much as more beer would impair you, than that is the issue. the blood alcohol level has to have a minimum for it to have any use, but it doesn't eliminate the fact that you were drinking and driving if you are impaired but under the limit, it simply reduces the punishment. not grasping that is what is absurd. the point of the limit is simple -- evaluating impaired drivers who pose a danger driving against a benchmark, not excusing all behavior below it. so, just because his BAC was below the threshold doesn't mean he wasn't a danger which is what is attempting to be combated by the laws.

as individuals we are responsible for knowing our own limits. Williams has to know he can't handle alcohol and shouldn't be driving at all after a beer or two.

Well... no way I'm benching a player who was NOT DUI.

As far as Dungy goes, who fuckin cares what he thinks. I know I don't. I don't care for those holier than thou types.

    Huh?

By law, under .08 is considered legally not under the influence or impaired. If Edwards was under .08 you'd all be crying that he was railroaded.

If they bagged him for driving to endanger, that's something else... and should have repercussions.

Different laws in different states. Florida says .08 is DWI, anything under is DUI. He broke the law.

Boy, that opens the door for the cops down there to haul in anyone they feel like. You're sort of right.

    Here is the law.
DUI (Driving Under the Influence of Alcoholic Beverages, Chemical Substances or Controlled Substances). s. 316.193, F.S.
Under Florida law, DUI is one offense, proved by impairment of normal faculties or unlawful blood alcohol or breath alcohol level of .08 or above. The penalties upon conviction are the same, regardless of the manner in which the offense is proven.

Where I live, under .08 means you can't nail him impaired driving, but you can still get for driving to endenger if he was weaving and whatnot. He was probably stoned.

+1 If Father Dungy says Harrison is a boy scout, he's a boy scout!

If the Right Reverend Dungy says Braylon should be suspended, he should be suspended!

Almighty God told him so! Don't you dare question Dungy!

It's also funny that some people on this board really are up in arms about some perceived moral double standard on the Jets being applied by Tony fucking Dungy.
