Yeah, you do have to repsect the math, they're 5-5, we were 4-6 last year at this time. But like I said I'm not expecting them to be a factor from here on out. The Bears, while not great, are decent and a non-conference opponent.
The goal right now is to be sitting at 9-2 going into the Patriots game. Then we will take it from there.
With the 2009 Jets you knew if they ever got their shit together they were going to be a good team. Miami has been nothing more than mediocre all year.
It means if we have matching records this week the common opponents tiebreaker is out. There is no way both teams can win/lose this week and finish on the same overall record and have different records against common opponents.
We hoped. We did lose Jenkins and Leon during the losing streak and I thnk Rex cried at one point. After getting crushed in Foxboro the most positive angle I could find was the Panthers, Bills and Bucs up next on the schedule. Is that right? This week shouldn't matter because they play the Colts, who we don't play, and we play the Texans, who they don't play.
Even as a decoy Moss was real helpful. Even though Welker is a real good player there's no question that having Moss usually well covered left Welker open. I don't know what happened to Moss. He was great for about 2 1/2 seasons and then age or attitude diminished his impact. I think he's still a dangerous player and could still do well on the right team but I don't know what team that would be. I think the Patriots got used to the coverage that Moss demanded and it's been an adjustment. Fortunately Brady does have a lot of experience with a WR corps without a true deep threat. So we'll see. The Pats have to take care of the Colts and Detroit before they meet up with the Jets and they could loss both games as much as win both. But assuming that doesn't happen it does look like the Jets game will be huuuuge. So much depends on which Patriots team shows up. If it's the one that beat the Ravens and Steelers, I think they have a very good chance to win. The Jets could still win but I think it will be very close no matter what. Even if the Jets have a great road record, I'm glad this game is in Foxboro.
Idk, its seems like the Pats have a good chance at not losing another game this season, only games that I can see them losing are against us or the Packers and I'd be suprised if they didnt beat the Pack. We still have to play the Steelers, who despite having bad game last week still have a VERY good team.
Yeah, I'm not saying all was well but we still had an elite defense and running game by midseason (I think we had 2 300 yard rushing games) despite us losing. The team was finding ways to lose instead of win which was troubling but the team still showed flashes. What has Miami shown? Their only good victory was against Green Bay. And losing Jenkins and Leon sucked but we were still relatively healthy else where while Miami is beaten up.
I think it would be different if the Dolphins had a young up-and-comer waiting in the wings behind Henne and/or Penne. But the reality is, they don't. And you need to have a serviceable QB to win in this league. And they don't. I can't see the 'Phins making much noise the rest of the way.
We must win in Foxboro...end o' story. If not, a home playoff game is pretty much out of the question. The crazy thing is the Jets can be anyplace from the 1 seed to the 6 seed right now with how things are. I would loooove a first round bye please = BEAT THE PATS.
Let's get through this week first. A sweep this week, and 9-2 with a 11 day break. This is a huge week to set the tone for the end run.
a superbowl team would march in foxboro and beat the panzy a$$ patriots and I say with confidence that this will in fact happen.
Don't forget that we've already beaten the Patriots once and that was without Holmes, Pace, and a healthy Revis.
