I understand you have a hard on for Newton but if any of this is true Auburn is going become the Alabama version of ITT Tech.

If the FBI is involved things will happen, we're not talking about the NCAA who picks and chooses who they go after and how harsh the punsihments are for those that break the rules.

I have a hard on for him because I realize he's the best player in the country? Makes sense.

There's only really one thing to understand here: you absolutely hate big programs because your school and it's conference will never be able to compete with them. Sorry about that.

He is the best player in the country but that doesn't change the fact that he apparently is involved in some pretty serious shit. That doesn't absolve him from being a scum bag.

It has nothing to do with me hating big programs because I actually like Auburn but if this school is doing something as wrong as it appears they are then they need to be punished and giving players bank cards to withdraw money from a local casino ATM is pretty dam wrong. It's clear the NCAA has turned a blind eye to many things that Auburn has done in past. If the FBI has all this dirt and taped then Auburn is fucked.

And I think it's pretty clear that the schools in my conference have proven they can compete with anybody in the country. Just ask Alabama, Arizona St, Tennessee, UCLA, Washington, Oklahoma, Virginia, Clemson, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, Michigan and Notre Dame who have all been beaten by MWC schools in the last few years.

Isn't the latest story that Newton himself had nothing to do with this shit and it was all his dad? Obviously it's pretty naive to assume Newton had nothing to do with it but there's no proof that Newton himself did anything wrong?

You seem like you're begging for Newton to be inelig, Rich.

You don't find it odd that the only people talking about how he demanded money are from Miss? Cmon...

What I'm begging for is something like this to bring down the system that we currently have in place and if it means that Newton and Auburn need to be sacrificed to do so then so be it. If this was Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Miami, Penn St, or Oregon I'd feel the exact same way. Like I said I don't have anything against Auburn, I like them more then most programs in the SEC maybe because they got screwed out of playing for a national title a few years ago.

It's not odd that the Miss St people came out because he was supposed to go there and didn't. Where my eyebrow goes up in when the FBI starts interviewing people and has wire taps on the man calling all the shots at Auburn. They wouldn't be involved if it was simple pay for play scam. I don't recall the FBI getting involved in the Reggie Bush debacle.

I don't know how naive it is. It wouldn't surprise me if his father Joe Jackson'd his ass and simply went out there talking shit without his son knowing crap. It wouldn't surprise me if he knew either, but it's not out of the realm of reality that his father would be talking and Cam himself would just be oblivious.

But the point you make has always jumped out at me. The only thing folks are saying is what his dad said, wanted or promised, and not him.

Or it's possible that his father realizing the hit his son is about to take is going to take the hit for him.

Wasn't there something that Cam sent a text message to the kid at Miss St outlining the payment plan?

None of this is going to matter for Cam in about a month and a half. They could take away all the wins, the Heisman, anything they want, he's still going to be a first round pick in April.

Newton's pretty accurate and he has a very strong arm. The kid's big, strong, fast, and confident - he's got everything you look for in a franchise quarterback.

I think he'll go in the first round. He's less of a project than Tim Tebow and he went in the first.

Someone will take him and develop him behind an aging and/or mediocre starter: Dallas, Buffalo, Cleveland, San Francisco, Arizona, Seattle, Cincinnati, Washington, Tennessee, Minnesota, Miami, and Kansas City could all go after a quarterback.

That's a longer list than I originally thought.

I just hope they don't have anything on Ole Miss. haha. Would be pretty pissed to have my degree invalidated.

Auburn will probably still win the national title. It's a matter of will they be allowed to keep it. Losing accreditation and all..fuckin' A I know about half the state just got dumber.

I think I'll join you on that popcorn, Cam Newton is supposedly being looked at by Buffalo.

Now you live down there so what is the general feeling amongst the people down south? I'm stuck with internet to get my info because I don't know any Auburn alums. The only SEC alums I know are Florida, Vanderbilt and LSU. I know the LSU fans are pissing themselves over this but like I told my one buddy, you better be careful what you wish for. I actually know a Jacksonville State alum but he doesn't really have a pulse either.

...so he doesn't go to Buffalo? I doubt they'll take him over Andrew Luck.

I dunno, I mainly waant to see him end up in SF. I've wanted that all along. He could be sick in that offense with what they have out there.

It looks like Troy Smith will be the future at QB for the Niners.
