My rabid Pats Fan co-worker likes to remind me on a daily basis that Belichick has never lost a second match up at home and therefore the Jets are guaranteed to lose in Dec. As I am a girl and not a stat-machine like most guys seem to be... I really have nothing to fight back with.
I'm not overrated their passing attack. I don't think it's a great passing offense and they don't have a deep threat. But they do have receivers that match up very well against our defense. Keep in mind how different the pats offense is today then it was in week 2. The Jets defense is built to shutdown the run and Wr's. The Pats offense is built around the short to middle range passing game in the middle of the field and short passes in the flats and to let the receivers get yac. It's a high percentage low risk offense that's hard to defend. I'm not saying that the pats have this great offense. I just think that their skill players match up very well against our back 7.
The Patriots* haven't won anything without cheating. The Jets have beaten them 3 of the last 4 games, and have only gotten better. We match up well against them, I don't fear them at all.
Tell him the Pats have yet to win a SB since the NFL forced them to stop cheating. Without cheating, Brady has less SB rings than Manning. Those two lines should drive any Pats fan nuts. Like mentioned above ... you can also mention the Browns but the cheating thing causes more drama.
Oh I'm here in NE so I get it all the time. I just shake my head and tell them they should have paid Vinateri. Haven't won a SB since. They just stare at me blankly.
Other than their two gay Tight Ends (lol no pun intended) who is Brady gonna throw to? I'm not worried about BenJarvis either he is not as good as Hillis, who we just held to 81 yards. The Browns have set the blueprint to beat the Pasts run, run, run. If Greene doesn't get at least 25 carries, then its all on Schotty. We need to beat those MFers twice, until then we haven't surpassed them.
No offense, but... loser excuse. You sound like a Colts fan. J/K, J/K. The Jets match up as well against the Patriots as any other team. I'm sure that's not a mistake. Between Mangini and Ryan, they understood that they had to get past New England to win the division. Credit where it's due... the Jets are the team to beat in the AFC right now. Probably in the whole league. If anything, I think the fear/intimidation/psychological factors have swung in your favor.
I can attest to that...unlike previous years this year's smack has been literally reduced to....take off that fucking hat> :jets:
So what does that makes the Jets who haven't won a SB since SB III? Hmmm? Haven't Jets fans been predicting that they going to the Superbowl every year since then?? How did that work out? (Just letting you know what I would say) Belichick does do much better on the rematch game but to be honest those are just statistics. There's not really much of a connection between the teams of the past and the current teams and how they'll perform on the field. (Hell Belichick would say the same thing "statistics are for losers"). In the end it what the coaches plan and how the players play on that day.
1st ask them if they know who knocked Bledsoe out of the game and jump started Brady's career. Then ask them to name one player other than Grogan or Bruschi on the Pats before Brady. They will have no idea. The majority of Pats fans are the biggest band wagoneers out there.
Mo Lewis... Of the Jets. You mean like Andre Tippet, Moise Tatupu, John Hannah, Sam "Bam" Cunningham, Stanley Morgan, Mike Haynes?
