I don't know who made that playcall near the two-minute warning, but I say it was pretty dumb to throw the ball on third down when they should have ran it, instead. Sanchez got lucky he didn't get picked off. And instead of killing the clock, we gave them 40 every seconds to tie it up. Thank god we've been winning, regardless of the gambles in the last several game finishes.
Yeah I remember bitching about this in the game thread. Stop trying to be cute and just run out the clock.
I dont remember bitching so much about the play selection as much as screaming at Schotty to take LT out of the game because Greene was clearly outplaying him. Thats about it
he made some horrendous calls today and he made some good calls too. pretty much that is what you get w/schotty.
actually, he called a great game. The Jets ran 91 fuckin plays. How many "horrendous" ones were there? 3? And name them if you would
He made some bad calls early on going to the pass more often than the run when we had a good run average going. But, I'll let it pass because he became more aggressive late in the game.
Damn Schotty for calling a ten minute drive! He had the offense working perfectly in the second half except for when someone set them back with a penalty. Every good drive the Jets had was stalled by a stupid penalty, not play calling.
If by every good drive you mean the just the drive in OT before the game-winning one, then I guess that's true. That's the only drive that really stalled on a penalty.
My biggest complaint against Schotty is his use of the shotgun formation on short downs. Offensively the running game is our strength. Why let the defense know you're not running on 3rd and 3?
The ten minute drive most certainly was stalled by a penalty unless I was a lot more drunk than I thought. I believe the other long drive (7-8 mins) in the second half was also stalled by a penalty.
The thing that pissed me off was we would ground and pund down the field and then decide we're a spread offense inside the 20 :breakdance:
Why do I have to name them? I watched the fucking game and I watched a team that failed to get into the endzone several times when they should have done so. If you think he called a great game, thats your opinion. He also made some horrendous calls, thats my opinion. I didn't say that he called a bad game, I said he made some bad calls. If you think he's perfect, then thats up to you.
I like beer. I think Schotty called a descent game, I think Cleveland buckled down hard in the red zone and perhaps instead of crucifying Schotty we should give them some credit.. or not.
