Counting the three playoff games he is 9-3; 204 for 366 (56%) for 2530 yards, 16 TD and 8 Int and 2 rushing TDs. While the completion percentage needs to go up, I'd say he well on his way to being a big time QB.

If you would have asked me a year ago if Mark Sanchez was going to be the saving grace for this offense in a year, I would have told you to go fuck yourself for asking such a stupid fucking question.

The man is a baller, plain and simple. The way he avoided sacks on a bum leg in the 4th and overtime was amazing

Y u on Big ben's meat like that?
Sanchez has actually been consistent extending plays with his feet. Its actually his specialty.

He has always had great footwork in the pocket, and I remember full well. What I am talking about is the guys draped all over him, where he suddenly escapes like Houdini and makes a big play down the field. Thats what we shouldnt expect. Sanchez will (ok should) always have a good feel in the pocket and move around avoiding pressure, but having the ability to make tacklers (who have him wrapped up) fail to bring him down is what he most likely will not be reproducing every week

I hope there are no Jets fans whining about Sanchez tonight. He is not so quietly becoming quite a winner. If and when he improves his accuracy, look out.

^^^ This. A thousand times this. As good as the numbers look and as many big plays as he makes, the kid is still improving. I don;t belive he's anywhere near his ceiling and I don't think he or the staff does either. Its feels good to know that, if healthy, we have a QB here for a good long time.

he has come up huge under pressure

he really struggles though when the jets arent in high pressure situations

    61% today, so that's a good start.

Some passes are still of the mark. Even the game winner was behind Holmes by a little.

More game experience and this will correct itself.

He does need to work on his accuracy...but he gets a pass in this game....Nacho was a warrior today, playing on that calf injury.

How do you shake out of a Shaun Rogers' sack AFTER injuring your calf? Fuggin Sanchez is amazing to watch inside the pocket.

Oh by the way, it's only his 3rd year as a starter between USC and the pros.

Great thread. I may be wrong, but I think today was Sanchez's best performance as a Jet. He saved our bacon several times with improvisations on broken plays. He threw the ball well, he stayed tough and led the team to a win against a pretty tough Browns D. In the 2nd Q When Schotty insisted on calling repeated pass plays from the 1 yd line, Sanchez basically said - fuck that, improvised and he ran the damn ball in for a TD. Great decision to compensate for a bad play call.

Dilfer is jerking off right now to Sanchez. Also said the Jets are the only team in NFL that can beat you with there C, or B game.
