I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess none. I'm also gonna go out on a limb and guess that your brother's not taking advice from message boards  We all see the potential he's got, and we know how filthy this defense is gonna be when the last place left to throw the football is Kyle and QB's start fearing him too.
No that's the fact of life for a ROOKIE Cb in this league.... Guy got thrown into the fire way too early with the Revis crap... The staff probably felt it was good to take a bit off his plate once Revis was back and let him digest a little more... But, I have no doubt at all that Wilson is 10x the player Coleman is.
Did you mean the this in it was a diversion intended to distract you from the main issue? Or do you miss a smoke cured herring that has a reddish tint? Either way, I think the first applied to you, stay focused on your lack of QB AGAIN, and we'll worry about our 3rd CB on the depth chart. Oops, I did it again.
I hate to be the one to point this out, well actually there's nothing to point out. The only DB on this team who has been worse than Drew Coleman is.......Kyle Wilson....Damn. Well Hopefully the CS used these weeks to point out his mistakes which were pretty much everything... Shit, he has even sucked on ST! I'm rootin for the kid, but just because "He's a rookie" doesn't mean he shouldn't be held accountable and given a free pass....Both he and Coleman are 3rd down machines....for the other team.
Like it was said many times. Kyle was playing musical defensive back until Revis arrived. Then he had to start the season playing out of position, practicing for Nickel back, #2 corner, left side, right side, that's a awful lot for a rookie to take in. Now that he's been able to have his role defined more and practice that role for a good while now I expect to see a dramatic improvement. Even when it was earlier in the season he was always right on his man, practicing at so many different spots it's tough to concentrate on all the routes, the angle to approach, and that will hurt is ball awareness. I think Colt will test him, and I think KW will get his first NFL INT.
I'm trying to temper my expectations but I expect him to do well this week. After being thrown into the fire and then taking a few weeks on the sidelines to observe maybe the game will slow down and it'll click. Helps that the Browns passing offense blows too. Hoping for a pick six this week out of K-dub
I think your pretty far off base saying he sucked at everything. If you go back and watch him play you would see that he was actually playing good coverage a good amount of the time. He wasn't using good technique to defend passes that came his way. He was constantly face guarding guys and making contact with them while not looking for the ball. Those issues are fixable with time and practice. He has the ability to cover man to man naturally which is a much harder skill to coach.
He's a first round pick. He needs to be much better than anything he has shown up till now. Don't forget, Coleman replaced him because of how bad he was...let that sink in.
Good for Kyle. Same as with Mark, I don't have high expectations from his first couple of seasons, just hoping for them to improve, never getting too worried or upset for their (as awful as they may be) mistakes. So far so good for Mark, hopefully it's the same for K --- He didn't kneel.
Thank You, you may sit down now. All though I doubt you'll do much clapping the rest of the season so have at it.
Sitting on the bench not playing corrects that most of the time (sarcasm). He needs to take his lumps on the field. Better him than Coleman because he clearly has a much higher ceiling.
Absolutely none. In fact, I'm mediocre even @ Madden. However, I am a fan, though nowhere near the "expert" knowledge of some of the folks on here in terms of rules and gameplay. Now that we've got that out of the way, the one thing I do know is that to sometimes make a play on the ball you actually need to turn your head and see the ball. I'm not knocking your brother, really, and know that it's growing pains right now. I want the best for him, as it will mean that we as fans are also getting the best.
Practicing vs 3 great receivers and a great TE mustn't helped, especially while getting tutored by Revis. He's getting a pick this Sunday.
As some have mentioned, Kyle just needs to get on the field and play the game. Sitting on the pine isn't going to help him. Revis was an average/below player the 1st year, a lot of people on this board were bitching about Revis saying it was a wasted pick trading up. I'm certain DT and Pettine have worked with Wilson and you will see an improvement in his technique the rest of the season.
K-dub is working with the best, he is learning from the best, he is practicing across from the best, and from everything we have heard, he is working as hard as he can. Combine that with the obvious physical tools he has, Wilson will become one of the best. Have faith boys and girls it won't be too much longer before wilson explodes onto the scene in a big way
