Ultimately this is why they drafted this kid... to play... and this is the perfect weekend to try to bring him back into the nickel.
Bryant Johnson. In case you can't remember, Revis was on Calvin Johnson. I know its hard to remember because he only caught 1 pass. snicker snicker
Wow, personally I don't think Coleman has played that bad. Yea his last game was bad but before that he was getting all kinds of praise for his play in the nickel. IMO Wilson has been given more opportunities but heh, i guess that comes with the first round price tag
Maybe if Wilson can take away, for long enough, the threat of the slot receiver and with Revis and Cro playing as they have on the outside we can get more coverage sacks/pressures. Or maybe an improved Wilson can inspire Gholston? The "if he can do it, so can I" sort of thing? nah, what am I saying...
If you have 3 corners shutting down their guys with one safety over the top and everyone else is blitzing, which forces teams into max protect, where is the ball going to go? Your right that the 4 man pass rush isn't good. The scheme can make up for that even more than it currently does if Wilson can be an upgrade to Coleman.
From Rex's presser all that was said is that Kyle will see more playing time, maybe nickel but definitely in a dime package. I'm curious as to how they got this info. I guess the same applies for Henne, too bad it's his 3rd year though.
I'd still want a ball-hawking safety and a better pass-rush in a perfect world.........but KW could be huge.
Ummmm he barely played in either of those games. He just happened to be on the field for those plays.
Barely played but closed out the game, that pick on Favre was a nice jump, and he has 2 sacks so far.
This. Rex must feel it's time for Wilson to get more playing time on the defensive side of the ball after watching from the sidelines the past few weeks. Coleman has not played as a starter should, and if Wilson can manage to turn to the ball when thrown at, we should be good to go from here on out. Coleman for depth, not starting.
It is a good week, Cleveland's receivers are a joke. Revis or Cromartie could cover all 3 at the same time. PLsu with a rookie QB throwing, it really is the perfect week to get him back out there and boost his confidence.
What does it matter who starts? One guy gives up a 1st down on a 25 yard pass play because he falls down while covering the receiver, the other guy gives up a first down on a pass interference play because he doesn't turn his head around.
