Rookie Kyle Wilson to replace Drew Coleman as starting nickel cornerback vs. Browns »
    By Manish Mehta

The Daily News has learned that Kyle Wilson will replace Drew Coleman as the starting nickel cornerback against the Browns. The Jets first-round pick has only played a handful of defensive snaps in the past few weeks.

A game tape review revealed that he was in on only two defensive snaps in last week's overtime win against the Lions.

Coleman, who gave up six catches for 101 yards and a touchdown last week, could actually play an equal number of snaps as Wilson on Sunday. It'll depend on how the rookie does early in the game.

Finally, Wilson can't be any worse than Drew "1st down" Coleman.

Please be able to get your head turned around on the ball man. If he can develop in the next 8 weeks this defense would be insane.

Thank you Revis Christ, thank you.

If Wilson is improved and starts showing his potential, this defense will have no flaws.

Let's hope he learned something over the past few weeks. If he could step up and play well at the nickel that could be the last piece our defense needs to dominate.

I have high hopes for this kid, he showed some signs of brilliance (along with more signs of being a rookie) nothing compares to actual game playing experience this is a good thing.

The Daily News has learned that Rex said in his press conference today that Wilson could see more playing time this week.

Please, please, please, please, do well Kyle. I'm not begging, but I'm begging.

Who's the Browns normal slot/#3 WR? Stuckey? Or do they use him more outside since they're pretty thin at WR?

Hopefully this is more of an indication that Wilson is now ready and that he's not getting in because Coleman had a bad game.

I hope he's ready now, Coleman has done a decent job for us this year overall but we expect much bigger things out of Kyle.

Ready for K-dub to start playing better.

People still need to temper expectations, he is not going to be stellar, he will still get beat and still make mistakes. He may play lights out at times, but at others he will be not so great.

Wilson has the potential to be something special, he just needs time to develop.

Can someone send a message to Kyle's brother and have him ask that Kyle please turn his head?
