They have been getting better and he's won 7 of his last 12. If he keeps winning Holmgren will not be letting him go.

Are the rumors of Holmgren leaving for Dallas true? I heard some talk about it on NFL radio, just wondering if this was heard/read by anyone else.

I'd be surprised. Holmgren actually has enough pull w/ the Browns to basically stop them from taking advice from Jim Brown (which is a good thing for the Browns). He's running the ship & in his interviews seems happy to be wielding the power w/ an owner who stays out of his way.

Jerry Jones isn't Al Davis but he's probably hands on enough to sour any highly qualified candidates.

I don't know, the rumblings have been he wants to coach again but if mangini keeps winning it will be hard to do that in Cleveland. I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up in Dallas.

Doubt it. I'm sure Jerry Jones knows about the success rate of fat coaches winning superbowls ...

It's a fact that fat coaches w/ mustaches have a much better chance to win a SB:grin:

Last year, Mangini's control issues were well documented with the Browns and how everything he did didn't sit well with anyone in Cleveland.

Holmgren came in to fix things. He's going to get the credit.

The only thing that was reported was the stripping of the murals, and the people complaining were Jim Brown and the fan base. One thing that organization needs to stop doing is listening to Jim Brown.

Yes, Holmgren will get the credit, but EM will do most of the work.

There was also the story of Mangini forcing his players to take a 10 hour bus ride against NFL rules, his ridiculous fines for things like a cell phone going off, and the dirty little matter of him throwing his buddy Kokinis under the bus.

I don't think that Mangini is exactly the most popular guy in the building.

Mangini has done a great job. He did some things that weren't popular (the mural, the rookies on the bus thing and the ludicrous fines he issued for players taking his water) but at the same time it's building a disciplined team that wasn't there prior to him getting there. He got rid of a lot of the problem players and now has slowly gotten things going for the browns.

There was more than that. A lot more than the murals. Rookie bullshit, his friend Kokinis resigned due to the fact that he was persona non grata in that building. That's pretty embarrassing.

Mangini was nearly the next kotite until the Browns won all of their December games last season.

There was a reason a guy like Holmgren was brought in.

Interesting post from Winston... I still believe Mangini has it in him to be a good NFL coach, and having Holmgren in the house will help (providing he survives this year). And we will be better off without him, with Rex. One of those - its all gonna work out in the end scenarios. Well for us at least.

Funny back then though thinking that Denver and Cleveland had better QB situations. Everything changes...

Holmgren better fire Eric's ass soon if he plans to do it. A couple more weeks of this type of play and Mangini ain't going anywhere. I'm afraid of this game on Sunday. The Jets that showed up for Denver, Green Bay and Detroit will get pushed around by the Browns.

I don't like this game at all.

The next 2 games are a good test of the Jets mettle.

For whatever reason, the Browns are playing well. Hillis is a horse...

Have they said who's starting at QB?

Should be a great test for us. Who would have thought that a few weeks ago, but that's the NFL these days. Remember last year how shitty the Titans were when we played them, yet anyone who played them in the second half had their hands full.

True, but he's fat. And according to Dolphag fans, fat coaches will never win
