The Jets have two guys on this list! Thought it was hilarious and a little light hearted moment to break up the weekly monotony before smacking the Browns around this weekend... http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/sh...s-in-the-National-Football-Lea?urn=nfl-283837
You know....I might be wrong, but I think Major had some pretty bad knees coming out of college...he didn't last long if I remember...I am not sure he was even drafted....let me look... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_Applewhite Nope...not drafted...went to a Training Camp with the Pats and then decided to go into coaching!
You know...my all time favorite one had to be Webster Slaughter....now THAT is an NFL football players name!
Anyone old enough to remember the player I.M. Hipp from back in the '80's? I think he played for Texas or one of those Big XII schools. Jonny Lam Jones is also a classic.
There was a Junior Ah You who played for the CFL Montreal Alouettes in the early 80s, has to be related I would think. Pretty sure that was Isiah Michael Hipp. There was also Julius Caesar Watts who played college ball around that same time and later became a congressman.
Jets used to have a center named Wayne Mulligan away back in the day. James Jett is a great name for a speedy WR.
