I'll be in town for Thanksgiving and need a ticket to the game as I am definitely going. If anyone has an extra or two I'd be interested. One maybe two if I can get my Giant fan brother to go. E-mail: nordiquewayne@gmail.com
I really want(ed) to go to the Bengals game but my family made it pretty clear there was no way that was happening. Last year when attended the Jets/Pats game I woke up at 5 AM the next morning to drive back to Binghamton. It sucked but it was totally worth it.
Not true. It's really hard to begin a thread while drunk off your ass. And as a season ticket holder, I don't like getting called out every week by the fans here to make noise. From what I see, most get into the game but we have not started games well, keeping the fans quiet. I unfortunately could not make the Vikings game but thought, by watching the game on DVR, that the crowd was pretty loud when needed, especially despite the poor weather.
Going to the Houston game, second of the year. Will be hosting my wife's family for Thanksgiving Dinner. Told her that they either sit, watch the game and cheer or get the f*ck out before the game starts. My biggest concern is my mother in law. Is it OK to grab a 70 year old woman by the ear and throw her out the door?
How far away are you? I make the 400+ mile rountrip to every game. I did sell my Pakers tix this year though due to Halloween.
I'm not following exactly. Personally if I'm sans kids, I'm usually nice and toasty by game time. I'm always in my seat and loud as all hell by kickoff. I don't understand what you mean about posting in the game thread and disappearing. Do people post in the game thread while at the game??
I'm just saying there's no way some of the threads that are started in the main forum on game day are started by somebody sober. Idk if any of them are the game but I guess it's possible some of them are just bitter they spent a shit load of money and Sanchez threw an incomplete pass.
I never post in the game threads if I'm at the game. Lousy cell coverage in the stadium. Too many competing frequencies in a small area complete with collisions up the ass. I have posted from the lot though.
About 3 hours away. It's not worth the hassle for me. I usually get to at least 1 game a year but it's draining.
This year I haven't been able to get any service once I enter the lot. The first game I was trying to locate the same group I'm meeting Thanksgiving and I couldn't get a call or text out. They were nearby too, because I could get a text in. Not sure about regular season. Most juries would throw it out if it's a playoff game. The good thing is it's an 8:30 game, kids and old people should be in bed. In my case the company, including my wife's niece and her baby, are staying downstairs where I usually watch TV in peace at night.
Same here. Especially when we're out there getting soaked and people are sitting on here bitching from the comfort of home. I'm 20 miles from the field now anyway, have a better chance of distracting a pilot landing at Newark than the opposing offense.
The GB game was a joke. That crowd was FULL of GB fans everywhere. I thought we were the away team at times. Honestly, I haven't been to a more pathetic showing from the crowd than that game. After a while, even I couldn't muster the energy to make noise, when the whole damn stadium was sitting on their hands. I'll be at Houston ready to get loud. Hopefully, the fans show up this time...
Some teams travel like that--Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Miami, Oakland, Cleveland for some reason. I think it's more about those fan bases than the Jet fans.
Perhaps. I got the feeling most of the GB fans were just remnants of the 90's SB bandwagon. I could be wrong.
You're probably right, that's where the fans of the other teams I listed have collected over the years, all except Cleveland were dominant teams in the 70s, 80s or 90s. Can't figure out why Cleveland is so popular, they even lost the team for a while but still have fans everywhere. There is a lot to keeping the name and identity in the city, I think they all should have done that. We could still have the Baltimore Colts and Houston Oilers if they did, their fanbases would be bigger and better.
I'll be there for Cincy...if I don't lose my voice by the end of the game, I'll be disappointed in myself.
