There is no way Rex considers doing anything that could prevent the Jets from winning because he wants his brother to get a HC position someday.
Rex is on 1050 ESPN right now and he said he does not care if his dad or his twin bro is on the other side but he wants to beat the crap out of him.
You're an only child, I take it? Here's the golden rule of sibling rivalry: "Nobody beats up my brother but me." Rex helps Rob and Rob helps Rex, sixteen weeks per season. The week they face each other, I guarantee you the most brutal exchanges between opposing coaches in football history. I'll bet Rex fucked Rob's wife today.
Being that the offense has sputtered for the better part of the last 3 games and has certainly at times played shitty enough to be 0-3, there is no such thing as a 'trap game' the rest of the season. Trap games are for teams that are firing on all cylinders and can over look a lesser opponent, for anybody that's watched recently, none of those elements are in play...
Yup. The only reason that it took so long for someone to take a chance on Rex was because teams were afraid that they would be getting a Buddy Ryan redux. Now that it seems like Rex Ryan has developed his father's good qualities (passion, leadership, defensive genius) and eschewed his bad ones (sucker punching assistant coaches,) it's only a matter of time before someone takes a chance on Rob.
I was thinking the exact same thing. This matchup is more Brian Schottenheimer vs. Mangini/Ryan and Daboll vs. Rex/Pettine if we're talking X's and O's anyways.
To call this a trap game is retarded. If anything Detroit was the trap while we were looking for this week. Rex and 2/3 of our team want to kick Mangini's ass for the way he treated the players and Rex wants to point out hes the better coach. The fact that Rex is playing his brother is going to make this game world war 3. I expect atleast 1 player to die this game. Probably Gholston if he sees the field.
The Mangini factor + The Rob Ryan vs Rex factor + Just beat the Pats = no chance the Jets look past this game. If they lose, it's going to be because they get out played, no excuses. Gotta give Mangini and Rob Ryan credit, they have that team playing really well now that Jake Delhomme is out of the lineup.
Let's see... Jets coming off another game in which they played shitty, Rex Ryan is facing his fucking BROTHER, Jets are playing a legit team that has just thrashed the defending champs and everyone's #1 team in the NFL (last week at least), Jets are facing their old coach who left on a bitter note ending the season two years ago. Yeah, definitely a trap game.
None of Mangini's former players have said anything bad about the way they were treated when he was here. What they did say was that the atmosphere under RR has been a lot more relaxed and fun.
Here are both Rex and Rob talking...Crazy they sound alike too
