Phillips should go back to being a coordinator and never be a HC again. Dude's not HC material. Anyway, would be cool if the Cowboys beat the Giants next week after this. I can't stand the Giants fans arrogance already.
Can't stand the guy. No way Schotty takes that job. I can't imagine Ryan does either. No way Cowher does either. Jones is in a pickle now. He hasn't gone to the NCAA since Switzer (I think) but what about mike leech?
Jason Garret will be gone at the end of the year, he has a similar resume as BS, 2 years as QB coach and 4 years as OC. I don't think Jerry will keep him, I know we believe that Jerry is too egotistical to hire Gruden or Cowher, however in my opinion he values money over all else and if it takes a big name coach to make that happen he will do it.
Why even bother firing Phillips if you're just gonna promote Jason Garrett? Garrett's offense has been even worse than Phillips' defense this year--no way he's the answer. If Jerry Jones ever wants to see another Super Bowl then he needs to hire a coach who won't just be a puppet, and he needs to step aside as GM.
I actually think Cowher is the best fit coaching wise. He would whip them into shape quickly. He also uses the same 3 -4 system. In terms of if he would go there, I don't think he would but for the right amount of money he might! He is human! Gruden would be a flash in the pan in that locker room, good to great at first but like in TB he will wear out his welcome. I think they will go with their OC for the rest of this season and then go searching.
That's the problem right there. Jerry Jones wants to be in control so he hires a coach that will be his puppet, undermining everybody's authority but his own. Players don't respect the coaches or the team and they wind up with what the Cowboys are now. Someone like Cowher will never play there, and the Cowboys won't stop being a joke until Jones gets over his power trip and I don't see that happening any time soon.
I didnt expect him to be fired mid season but last night and the week before was just flat out embarrassing for a team as talented as the Cowboys are
That says more about Mike Jenkins than it does about Wade Phillips. It's not the first time in Jenkins' career that he's given the Ole!. Stab in the dark: Jim Harbaugh.
How a successful businessman like Jerry Jones can hire guys like Campo, Gailey, and Phillips while pushing Parcells out the door is beyond me.
I'll blame that on the players, they're still getting multi million dollars for playing so if the quit playing it's on them more than the coach. Dallas is just a train wreck.
He should have been fired before this season, not much point of doing it now the fill-in probably won't be permanent. The fans with the $100,000 PSLs must be loving this haha
I think the question that should be posed is how could Jerry Jones NOT fire Wade Phillips? After the last 3 losses, it has become apparent that the team has quit, particularly the defense. That was Phillips responsibility and he was rightfully fired. Now Jones has another problem, he is well known as an egomaniac and would most likely scare away any real potential head coaching candidates. Which, to me at least, puts him right up there with Dan Snyder and Al Davis as footbal owners NOT to work for. What happens next season will be very interesting. Garrett has been there for a long time and maybe, just maybe, gets these slugs to play closer to their talent level.
I don't think so. If the money's right somebody good will take the job and if it doesn't work two things will happen. A) He'll pocket Jones' cash and B) There will be apologists that will say it was Jones' fault that it fell apart.
Well, if they do take a well financed offer from Jones, be prepared for all the crap that comes with it. You think a guy like Cowher would look twice at the Cowboys job?
Well Parcells came out of retirement for the Cowboys job but no I don't think Cowher will take a serious look at the Cowboys job. If Cowher coaches again (I don't think he is) I think he'll take the Panthers job after Fox is fired. John Fox is a good coach, he could be a potential candidate.
Too bad they couldn't fire the 45 assholes that have roster spots on this piece of shit team of quitters.
America's team? This close to Veterans day this team of quitters should be Iraq's team. Make a real team America's team.
Cowher won't take the job, he wants full control which means Jones would have to retire..won't happen. I'm not sure but Gruden may feel the same way after seeing the zoo that has been Dallas for years now.
