He shoulda got up on a soap box sayin "we got luckee, we got luckee", use ya noogin guys --Mike Francessa
Sanchez is a dick. No in all seriousness that is what we needed. Dirty to step up, get his voice heard and make a fucking statement. Someone needs to tell this team that they better start playing like this from the get go. Hopefully this motivates them to get their head out their ass and play some football and Schotty can call some plays that allows them to do this.
I think Rex was behind this, or at least pushed Sanchez a little. Seems like a direct response to Braylon's comments last week, I didn't hear Sanchez criticize Braylon for that fumble either.. Great team player that Sanchez fella-
Unless that means refusing to call the plays that are sent to him via the headset, that's not his problem - it's Schottenheimer's. Of course, he could repeatedly change the plays, but football coaches don't like that kind of insubordination.
hehe this is fun. sanchez half way through the game was playing like a complete waste. he honestly in many teams would have been replaced. i am sure if the jets had an actual backup they would have thought about it. then detroit does everything in its power to give the game away and all of a sudden sanchez is the savior again? the jets dont need him to give any speeches, the jets need him to play even remotely consistent and not put the ball in harms way. when he does that he wont need to be fined for slumping his shoulders or be a guy who needs to be set up on a chair to talk.
Jeff, you continue to make it seem as though the NFL is sandlot football. You make it sound as if the QB gets a play form teh OC and his target is one receiver running one route and thats where he needs to throw the ball. You do realize the QB has multiple options right? And he needs to read the defense and find the open receiver right? You also realize that when Sanchez overthrows or unserthrows a receiver that its not the OC's fault right?
Everybody on this team needs to play more consistently, but I can't agree you bench your starting guy if he's having a bad game alone. I mean, he only threw on pick and had a couple of fumbles... in a close game you don't bench him. He has to learn to shake it off and play through it and deliver (which he did). Unless your Shanahan of course. If you like that sort of thing you can always root for Washington.
How you managed to come to any of these conclusions is baffling. He is a 2nd year qb... they are all inconsistent. The important thing is that he can come through when it counts. As he gets more consistent it will only add to how good of a player he already is.
He's a smart guy so I'm sure he knows that. But if you are given plays that are just not matched well against what the defense is showing sometimes there is no out. I think that is the point. We become predictable when one guys is calling the same shit on the same downs. Do you think other teams don't analyze our playcalling and look for patterns? Hell we have armchair OCs spotting them right off here on the forums.
It is easy to recognize that Sanchez's two minute drill was having more of an impact, but I think part of that includes the fact that what he might call and what the OC might call have the potential to be very different plays. Plus, its a hurry up offense... once you make the defense start hussling it doesn't give them time to regroup or substitute as easily. So it isn't some kind of instant validation that Sanchez is a brilliant OC.
Great to see Sanchez stepping up at the end of the game and making a speech in the locker room. He's stepping up and being a leader, which is the next step in his progression.
You don't understand the game. You're on a message board filled with those who do. Stop being a pessimist troll and learn from us.
