I think he'll spend more time on the Giants and how great they are. When the Jets dominate, it's well, they did what they should do. BUT when it's the Giants, that's when he goes all out in his joy of his team doing great. Not quite on Yankees level, but it's up there.
Hard to dispute anything he's saying. He's not giving the Jets any credit tho for taking advantage of the presented opportunities
"JETS Lucky, Breaks, Detroit bad Coaching.. JETS got Gifts, gift, Gifts.....Gifts... Detroit didn't have their kicker or starting QB.. Detroit, Run the ball!! That's coaching 101 ! It Gave the JETS ENORMOUS LIFE... The JETS escaped a game they had NO right winning, they were out played. Without the Detroit snafu the JETS don't win" "Somedays your resiliant, somedays your flat lucky, today...your flat lucky!!" "Detroit missed tackles, got penalties...." "This was a poorly coached game, a poorly played game" Pretty much what he said tonight.
lol did he really say that? i can't listen to his sunday shows on nbc. i don't have it here in fl. damn that's awesome! nothing better then listening to francesa cry after a jet win. it's gonna be sweet tomorrow listening to excuse after excuse.
He basically said Cleveland is serious now and says the next few games are vs teams that are falling apart....after that "then it gets fun"
Francessa is so biased against the Jets, it's borderline comical. For him, none of the Jets "almost" plays or situations count. But for the Jets opponents, every unforced error is highlighted and depicted as a "gift" the Jets were "lucky" to receive. For Example, did fatass mention Trevor Pryce running into the Kicker on the Lions short FG attempt???? (That cost us three points and TOTALLY changed the momentum of the game, making it a 13-10 Detriot lead instead of a 10-10 tie) Did Fatass take note of how costly and game-changing the fumble by Braylon Edwards was, with us up 10-7 and driving to start the second half???? Each of those plays were careless errors that gave Detriot huge boosts. And, did Detroit REALLY outplay the Jets that badly? Let's take a closer look TOTAL YARDS: Jets-424 Lions-306 FIRST DOWNS: Jets-23 Lions-21 PASSING YARDS: Jets-314 Lions-228 RUSHING YARDS: Jets-110 Lions-78 THIRD DOWN EFFICIENCY: Jets-5/13 (38%) Lions- 5/15 (33%) PENALTIES: Jets-11 penalties for 99 yards Lions- 11 penalties for 102 yards NET RETURN YARDS: Jets-181 Lions-144 TOP: Jets-29:32 Lions-32:46 Again, no one is saying the Jets played great football. But to blatantly say the Lions outplayed the Jets and that the only reason the Jets won is because they got "gifts" is patently ridiculous.
I get the joke, and yes, the Jets were sloppy all day. But I still don't see how the Lions "outplayed" the Jets from the line of scrimmage. Both teams were sloppy and made plenty of unforced errors but Jets made more plays than the Lions did.
I haven't listened to Francessa for over a year now. I'd rather listen to 1050's commercials than that tub o' shit
I would have loved sitting next to Fatty in the last 5 min. and OT. He must have been dying seeing this team come back and win, taking away some of his opening monologue killing Rex and crew. I bet he beat his wife when the Jets won. These kinds of wins kill Jet haters, just kill them. F U Fatty
The real reason the Jets had to claw back in this game: 5 fumbles. Even though only one was a turnover, the other ones killed momentum/drives.
I don't think Francesa realizes we were up 10-7 about to go up 17-7 when Edwards had a silly fumble. Outplayed my ass.
I don't think the Lions out played the Jets. It seemed like it at times though because the Lions built momentum quick by playing great for 15 minutes spread over Q1 and Q2, itseemed like they outplayed the Jets. Then the Lions played abysmal football the rest of the way. The Jets, on the other hand, were consistently sub-mediocre which was enough to just barely win. Also, they need to address this whole WR being stripped of the ball issue. This is way too common right now.
That's my biggest issue with Francesa. Luck doesn't go both ways. Nonetheless it's really funny listening to him after a controversial Jet win. After the Colts win last year he had me convinced the Jets actually lost that game.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict he doesn't mention how the jets got unlucky when sanchez scored on the QB sneak and the clock never stopped cuz the refs are dumb. that was HUGE. the clock should've stopped at 3 min. Instead it went to 2:45 and then below 2:40 after the kickoff.
