Wow... Bart Scott just said that the Lions were the dirtiest team he's played against since the Titans.
Bart feels the Lions are the "dirtiest team he's played..." since Tennessee. He said they were a soft team trying to play hard, and he said "I swear I hope I see them again..." Love this intensity, wish he could rid himself of his bonehead plays.
Just posted this in the game thread... He is fucking pissed, saying how dirty the Lions are, dirtiest team he has played since Tennessee. Saying they are diving at knees and spearing people in backs. When asked "they are known for being a soft team, has that changed?" Bart Scott: "No, what happens is a soft team tries to play tough and ends up playing dirty instead" He is pissed...completely calling Detroit out right now for cheap shotting and trying to injure.
No surprise here. I was watching the afterplay bs that went down. These refs were so overmatched that the Lions were able to get away with damn near everything except the super obvious. It does seem as if the refs this year are out to make things hard on the Jets. Hard Knocks? Ryan's big mouth? Does it matter...?
I'm not sure what was worse, their OLine going after defenders' knees all game, their OLine diving late on piles all game or Kyle Van den Bosch twisting Sanchez's left knee after hitting him after the throw.
I don't cheer for injures....but I find it fitting how the team that was trying to injure all day had 3-4 injuries...while we had none. They are a bunch of pussies.
Gosder Cherilius needs to be punched in the face......multiple times. I must've counted at least 3x he jumped on the pile after the play was over......that's fucking bush league.
Actually, those were well coached cut blocks. Peterman initiated contact before the DL was engaged. The other was on Morris and that was just a stupid ST play.
The chop blocks might have been bad calls, but there is no doubt the Lions o-linemen were going after defenders knees all day specifically Ellis. They were going after his knees/legs all day from what I saw. Ellis was understandably upset as were the rest of the guys.
Far be it from me to defend subpar refereeing, but your OL did seem pretty eager to go low on defenders.
Yanno, for a team with a QB who is made of glass, I wouldnt' be so happy about my team dishing out borderline dirty hits. All one has to do is blast YOUR QB one time and his season is over. Karma is a cast iron bitch..
