Let's start with the offense and the guy calling the plays.

I had a chance to watch the Colts play their offense, and it makes a great comparison between how Jets run offense and how Peyton runs his offense.

In case of Peyton, he never sets up his play late. His squads are ready for the play with the play clock well in 30 seconds range. (more like 34-35ish) Peyton then sends his men here and there to figure out the coverage and general play scheme - and he uses good 20 seconds up in the huddle doing so. When he figures out a good mismatch, he never hesitates to snap the ball even if there are a lot of time still left on the clock. In short, Peyton plays his offense very fast, with ample room for adjustment and audibles.

In case of Sanchez, he never lines up his squad before 20 seconds. This is minimum of 15 second disadvantage at the huddle. He doesn't do much under the center either. The motion is minimal - there are some movements, but don't seem to serve much purpose at all. If at all, the defense knows 1st down plays are rushing plays anyway, so they stack the box with reckless abandon.

If anything, this is an indelible damnation against Schottenheimer. He is not giving the play out fast enough to Sanchez (the plays aren't that good either) and the whole offense suffers. Defend Schottenheimer all you will, but I doubt this point can be defended at all.

Is this because training is too much about having a good time, instead of getting your head down and working hard?
