Brandon Flowers is playing much better than Cro' -- he is playing like Revis '09 and is a HUGE reason for KC's success
what i find pretty interesting is that LT is not on that list for comeback player of the year?!?! Whats that all about?
Maybe cause he considers "comeback" to mean "coming back from a MAJOR injury" and not "coming back from sucking". Just a thought.
Wow, another person who focuses on the 5-7 times a year in which a team or player appears on the cover and then has a bad game or week immediately after that. Please, do not pay attention to the other 45-47 covers. It's a jinx rag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111 Duh duh duh derrrrrr.
What makes no sense? I don't see anything egregious there. Alex Mack is a top center. If you want to argue that Mangold has had a better 2010 season then Mack that would be fine. It's not outrageous, though, that somebody has Mack above Mangold right now. Ryan Lilja has been very good for the Chiefs. They do lead the league in rushing. Yanda has been good for Baltimore.
lol im sure every teams forum has a thread like this crying about it..."wow, somebody has an opinion different from mine! what an outrage!"
Ok Its not a jinx rag, it only has that reputation as the SI jinx, whether true or fictional it is spoken of quite often. I will correct myself, its simply a rag now. Anyone that remembers reading SI when they actually had good weekly columnists like Frank Deford and Paul Zimmerman can see on a week to week basis just how far this publication has fallen. Could be worse though, they could be ESPN the magazine, a publication which essentially is written for those that cannot read with shiny big pictures and small words.
I said stat wise, dude, and I meant AFC not NFL, I also didn't say Cro should be there over Flowers, I also wouldn't say Flowers is much better, at all. Chiefs also haven't played anyone good except for Indy. KC's success is their run defense and they aren't allowing alot of points, their pass D is in the bottom 10 in the league. Oh and 190 yds avg a game rushing has something to do with their success as well. But maybe I'm a little biased and Cro is having a huge year, he just isn't getting alot of picks. Either way I'd rather Cro than Flowers any day.
How the hell is Beli coach of the year? What about Andy Reid who looks like a genius getting rid of Mcnabb? Jeff Fisher? Team goes 0-6 finish last year at 8-8, and already on a good run. Tampa Bay dude? He is crazy, but BB?? Coach of the Kansas City Chiefs? Hell even Tom Coughlin. Team sucked dick last year, and people say the locker room is lost. Now look at the team. Wtf BB? You got Brady. E.J. Henderson? Cool. I'm biased, but LaDainian Tomlinson sucked for 2years? Now he is playing pretty damn good. No brainer right now for LDT. wtf is this coordinator, assistant, executive of the year shit? never seen this.
You can certainly debate whether Belichik is th Coach of the Year at this point, but it isn't absurd either. They lost their top CB (Bodden) and 2nd best DL (Warren) before the season started. They've played without their best OL (Mankins) and his replacement (Kaczur) all year. They lost one of their most valuable offensive players (Faulk) after two games, and they traded their star WR (Moss) after 4 games. They are starting 5 rookies and are getting production from 3 undrafted FA's. And they have the best record in the NFL. I'd say he should at least be in the discussion.
CJLang provided a bunch of reasons why it would not be outlandish if Belichick wins that award this year. I would give the award to Henderson right now. Of course, the season is only half over. If Henderson does not complete this season, then Tomlinson or Brandon Lloyd would be fine choices. I am not in favor of Welker winning it. I dislike it when players play a full season and then win the award the next season because they overcame an injury (or stroke in the case of Tedi Bruschi) that occurred very late in the season or in the offseason. My argument is the guy played the previous season. He got injured in the season finale. He was a 1st-team All-Pro. What the fuck is he coming back from? The Sporting News and Pro Football Weekly give out awards for the top assistant coach and at least one of them give out an award for executive of the year.
Garcon, Gonzalez and Collie aren't top tier receivers. They are made better because they play with Manning. Why you think they make Manning so much better just shows your bias against him. Brady's receivers aren't considered better than Manning's because Brady dinks and dunks. That's why his Tight Ends are getting a majority of the receptions. It's always been that way in NE since Brady has been there other than the few years with Moss (who has made all of his QBs better).
Did you guys see your boy get made a fool of by...Jacoby Ford...WHO? Flowers playing like '09 Revis? pffffft. Revis is back and Cro is a beast, Flowers would be #3 on our depth chart.
Yeah, I saw the game. I still have yet to see any NFL player who was perfect on every play of his career. Flowers has still had a better year than both Revis and Cromartie. Edit- If you disagree, so be it. I just hope you have actually watched the Chiefs games this year. Otherwise, you are not being fair here. Finally, the season is long from over. The two players who get named to the AP 1st team All-Pro team and the PFW 1st team All-Pro team might not include Flowers, Revis, or Cromartie.
