THIS, on top of the title of this thread (Blackest day in history) and then stating you don't care about the color of his skin (C'mon Son! This pun, however lame, was clearly intended) tickles me no end!

Don't get the love for Obama, he had all the power in the world for two years and all he did was put through a shitty health care bill that he exempted the unions from, took control of GM screwing the stock holders (in favor of the union). I guess he did fight for illegal immigration on the taxpayer’s dime, if that is what you like.

He even gave up on all his efforts as soon as he lost the super majority, well they did push through healthcare but went around having to put it is the senate again to do so.

I just don’t get the blind defense of him.

Criminals already buy guns illegally. It's not like they're buying them at Cabelas.

This election didn't bring republicans to power.

I don't get the defense of ANY politician or party. The idea that we are somehow better off now with a differently labeled group of greedy liars and criminals in control than another,is fucking assinine. This country is run by 5%,and politics are in place to keep that 5% where it is.

We are better off because there are now two parties and that means little or nothing will really change. Before yesterday we had a socialist with altiment power today we have a government that has two parties who have to agree to screw us.

I agree with you both parties suck that is why I don't want either in total control.

I pretty much always figured you for a "burning down the house" kind of guy. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Seriously, dude, I know you drink too much during football season, but is LongTimeDickHead's political analysis something you want to cloak yourself in? Really? You been studying the constitution for years too?

Yeah, total control would be terrible. And i agree that we need protection from that. The only thing i don't get is,all of the socialist stuff towards Obama. I'm not a fan of him,or anyone else, but what taxes has everyone been hit with since he's been in office? The Tea party reminds me of a group warning everyone of a boogey man that just never showed up. Also, there were some good parts and bad parts of the health bill. I was a huge fan of the pre existing condition part. My mother is a breast cancer survivor, but has had a hell of a time affording her medicine and health care because she has a "pre existing condition". Usually i would be the last person to say this, and i certainly mean it in general, not at you. But i think had he been a white democrat, the opposition to everything he has proposed would not be so strong.

Obama's big sin is deficit spending. What many people fail to realize is that deficits not only must be repaid but that interest also accrues (if more people realized this credit card companies would have much smaller profits). Therefore, deficit spending = future tax increases. Many of the spending increases are highly favorable to union employees and provide zero benefit to non-union employees who will have to pay more than their fair share of the future taxes needed to pay for this spending.

By letting the Bush tax cuts expire, Obama is turning future tax increases into present tax increases (these are much harder to sweep under the carpet). The mandate for the uninsured to buy market rate insurance or pay a significant penalty is a huge regressive tax increase on the very people Obama said he wanted to help.

As Reagan said, the scariest thing that anyone could expect to hear is "Hello, I am from the government and I am here to help you."

Obama is the physical manifestation of Reagan's "helpful" government employee (the bogeyman).

Isn't he considering the same cuts now? Also,I think that the drain on this nation from a war that never should have been started is far worse.
Also aren't some of the actions Obama is taking a desperate attempt to keep this country afloat after the mess Bush left it in? I mean,i remember the economy tanking while Mr Oil was still in the hot seat. Obama got handed a puzzle with all rounded pieces.

So, I'm assuming you were violently opposed to deficit spending during the Reagan administration? Because we still haven't paid for that either.

Not to mention the fact that the whole point of letting the tax cuts expire is to lower the deficit, not to pay for the evil government help monster.

The vast majority of studies indicate otherwise, but really, what happens in England or Canada does not reflect how it would work here.

Hey, Einstein, just out of curiousity, which studies are you talking about?

And while we're at it, is there some reason maybe why you haven't posted here for years?
