I thought that the Vikings, Pats and Ravens games this year were louder earlier this year and had noise levels to be "proud of" (but not as loud as the loudest at the old stadium due to the configuration) I did see more Packer fans (they do travel well) in the crowd. Also, Fireman Ed didn't get things going at the start of the game. Also, the crowd got bored. It was a boring game. Crowd noise is a 2-way street, the team has to make some good/big plays to get the crowd fired up to its max potential.
just from watching games on TV these are the crowds I'd say are better then the Jets. yes I'm factoring in when the team is good and also the consistency. i feel like the jet crowds are awesome some games but very average most of the other games. Being at all the home games so far, it was clearly not as loud as the Pats, Ravens and Vikings game. But it did get pretty loud at times when it called for. Considereing the offense didn't really do much, there was not a whole lot to get excited for. The big thing with the crowd is when I was looking a few of the club or suite sections, the ones right behind the oposing teams bench. One in the lower level was empty for pretty much the entire 3rd quarter and the level above those were half fill at best. You can blame that on Woody and the outrageous PSL prices. I hate hearing the excuse that it was to cold out, I would think most people should or do check the weather so they know what to expect. When you go to a football game in Nov or December you should expect the weather not to cooperate.

Now, obviously there was no way my little message board post was going to seriously mobilize an entire fanbase to wreak havoc on the Packers, but it just shows that I anticipated this. I was nervous that the fans just weren't going to be all to excited for this game because of the bye week and the fact that the Packers aren't "serious rivals". (a) EVERY team that steps on that home field to try to beat the Jets is a "serious rival". We must protect this house! (b) Making noise when your team is on defense is not an option. Its an obligation you have when you plop your ass in that seat. (c) Can it be that the ridiculous ticket prices have chased out a lot of the real fans and now all the rich yuppies don't want to hurt their delicate throats?<---my money's on this. (d) Aaron Rodgers did nothing...stop talking. (e) That being said, fan noise is for defense. The Jets D performed more than well. Therefore, not a valid excuse. However, a louder crowd could have equaled a miscommunication here and there, and perhaps the elusive turnover that would have turned the game around. Still, it is clear that the main reason they lost that game is because their skill players on offense couldn't hold on to the ball.
