Problem is, the 2 best teams in the AFC are probably in the East. I think that we'll be fine, go on a good run here hopefully win the next 4 in a row. The key is going to be that next game against the Pats. They're firing on all cylinders and look like a great team (as usual). That game could be the difference between being the #1 seed and the #5 seed.
Every team shits their pants once or twice a year. As long as the problems do not roll over into next week(Rex going to the andy reid school of clock management, norv turner play calling, and fear to catch the football) the jets are fine. Getting shut out needs to make this team furious. With that said, 14-2 is not bad!
I don't think the Pats are as scary as some make them out to be. We beat them without a health Revis, Pace, and Holmes. They have to face a good team, over the next 4 games they have the Colts and Steelers. That'll be the real test. Then we get to beat them again. We both face the Lions and Browns over the next 4 games, I would not be shocked if Cleveland upset the Pats. Mangini hates losing, especially to BB.
I understand your point, but until the Jets finish ahead of NE in the standings, they remain a significant force.
I don't know if this has been said. I didn't read any posts. Deion said that the Jets are the best because of the two shutdown corners they have in Cro and Revis. Does anyone not understand why he said that, and why he still picks the Jets as the best team? If so, reply and I'll be happy to answer you. Oh, and the Pats are just as beatable as the other 31 teams. There is no "best" team this year. Its not clear and cut like the previous 10 years where there were 8-0 teams that were the best teams.
wait a second... is this one of those defense wins championship arguments? /dur dur for serious... we have a very talented tough team. we were flat coming off a bye. its not hte end of hte season, yet reading some of these threads.
before someone actually takes that first sentence seriously: Deion said that the Jets are still #1 because they have two shutdown corners. Deion picked us due to our corners because he was a CB too. If the Jets were this talented without Cro and Revis, he would have picked someone else.
Rodgers did have time in the pocket on most his throws, there was just nobody open. Now if you ask him about the coverage he'll probably say it was tough.
Exactyl! I could care less who picks us as the best team now or who picks us later as long as we are the damn proven best in february. Fuck a best team now and later pick.
The pats defense is too young and their secondary too suspect (chung is injured btw) for them to keep winning at this pace. the steelers and colts back to back games will result in a loss or two. there's no way in hell they win both those games. the pats do have the best record, but their toughest stretch of the schedule is coming up. we'll talk after having to play the colts, steelers, us within a 4 game stretch. personally, who gives a shit? If we have the 2nd best record in the AFC at the end of the year...i'll be fuckin ecstatic. a first round bye with a guarantee home game will be fuckin amazing. we'll see what happens from here on out
That's the way I see it as well. They just find ways to win. I agree that on paper the Jets have a better team, but the Pats game plan like nobody's business. They seem to go after team's weaknesses where the Jets coaching staff seem to want to play 'their game' no matter what. Which is great when it works, but looks pretty stupid when it doesn't.
Lets sign deion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!1111111!!!!!111!!!
Just like after week one the world seems to be crumbling. We bounced back well after that game and there's no reason to believe we won't bounce back from this one. And there was some good news in this game... our defense looked back to form.
