Does he get all the credit for the 5 wins too? Blaming the OC for this loss is more than a little foolish IMO. Execution was the problem.

Exactly. If you're talking loud about how great you are ... then you've got to be ready to hear the smacktalk from rivals whenever you drop the ball. Just common sense.

I agree with the Pats fan (gag). Schotty did call some questionable bullshit, but aside from the o-line his players were not executing for the majority of that game.

Yeah, I don't get the Schotty hate. It wasn't his fault that the offense kept making mistakes. I mean, look at the game stats. We were pretty much ahead of the Packers in nearly every offensive category except turnovers. Had we not dropped so many passes we could've won the game 17-6 or something.

Which is why nobody needs to panic. Nobody plays great every week. If they were dominated by a clearly better team I could see having concern, but I didn't see that at all.

They just need to play better, and they've shown they can.

Schotty called too many passing plays against a team who had let up 196 and 150 rushing yards in their prior two games and who are ranked 25th overall in rushing defense (probably worse before yesterday). Who was seriously undermanned and had a Jets outcast playing on their defensive line. In a game when you're down by less than a touchdown until the very end, there is no excuse for calling so many passing plays.

This game was part of the learning experience.
No doubt the Jets will lose a couple of more games before the season is over.

The important thing is to learn from the mistakes.
Whe the playoffs start, the Jets need to put into practice everything that they've learned from their losses.

Did that Rex2009 guy or whatever his name is start a 14-2 thread yet? lol

I said at the start we'd go 12-4 and I still think that will be our final record.

We're going to go on a streak now, have a slip again and then finish strong.

Bring back stickum. For the most part, the jets receivers sucked yesterday.

I agree. As much as I would love to think the Jets "just" had an off day, I am afraid it is worse than that.

They were stuffing the box, and you saw how difficult it was for our offensive line to get open up lanes. It was pretty obvious that we weren't going to be able to run it down their throats. We didn't lost because we passed too much, we lost because of those dropped passes.

They were still averaging about 3.5 yards per carry (Green + Tomlinson + Smith). That's not great, but the more you run the easier it gets. Still 3.5 * 3 = 10.5 yards.

Games stats show the Jets ran 29 times for 119 yds, or 4.1 ypc.

Actually it was really 3.1 ypc (26 for 80 yds). If you are gaging the rushing game you need to take out the fake FG run (17 yds) and Sanchez 2 scrambles (22 yds).

    Fake punt, lol

    I hope we weren't trying a 70 yard FG.

Rex needs to evaluate what he does with the bye week. This is two years in a row the team has come out flat after the bye.

I agree with Deion. The overreaction to this loss is astounding.

    16+6+3 = 25
    for
    54+22+12 = 88
    25/88 = 3.52

I don't count that horribly failed reverse. Plus, the performance of the running backs (and Brad Smith since he gets the ball off the snap) are a better gauge of the running game. LT + Greene were 3.45. 3.45 * 3 still gives you 10.35 per 3 rushes.

I loved that play, they needed to lose 8 yards at that time to open up some pass options. Schotty has many plays designed to lose all kinds of yardage.
