Yep...I actually had to get off the computer last night and let everything settle down before coming on this morning. ... I needed the mental break instead of a mental breakdown.
This thread is a massive overreaction however I do agree with the OP on one point... The dances after every catch need to stop. Its one thing to pump up the crowd, its another to act like a selfish moron whose in love with himself when his biggest contribution thus far has been fumbles and dropped passes.
Not the play that led to the Jets having the ball on the one yard line to take the lead against Denver? Really?
Yes, that was the best executed reception of a facemask / pass interference penalty in NFL history. The negative in Holmes game thus far has far outweighed the positive, and he's celebrating like he's Kenny fucking Powers.
He does need to cut the "every catch celebration" until he starts playing more consistently. It's kind of cringe worthy right now.
Holmes was playing good until Mark Cantchez didn't lead him on a wide upon drag route and threw it behind him at his knees. Holmes could have caught it yes but he was expecting to be lead for a TD.
he played like shit, but who gives a fuck about what he did after a catch. the offense was lost, and little shit like that can get the squad going. shit why dont we get rid of Rex Ryan? he is crazier, and cockier than Holmes. this is what you get with Rex. Nobody is going to act like a fucking robot, and shouldnt. i would understand if we were gettin blown out 30-0...then the Holmes shit woulda been outta control.
Is there any way to close the website for about 8 hours after any Jets loss? That might filter out a little retarded despair.
LOL, how long do you guys need to vent about everything before you can take a step back and realize you all sound like a bunch of middle school kids?
I am not a troll... and he is a WR not a QB, you should not need more than 3 games to learn how to catch a ball the thread title may have been extreme, but I am definitely choosing Braylon over him at this point
He's still getting acclimated to the offense and a new QB.......Braylon went through the same growing pains last season too. Or is your memory THAT short?
Wouldn't help. Just gives the crazies more time to think. Besides how could we live without gems like: That was adorable by the way. You should copyright it. Now go play in traffic.
OMG SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH THESE RETARDED THREADS!!! Jesus christ you'd think we had a worse start than the Bills with all the 10-year old-esque whining on here. Get over it, geez.
LOL people here still calling the Packers a "shitty team." This is exactly the arrogant attitude that lost you this game. You forget that before the Packers had their brash of injuries, they were picked by many analysts to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. It was blatantly obvious that you guys tried to overlook this game, and you shouldn't have. We came into your stadium, and punched you in the mouth. Deal with it. The Packers won this game more than the Jets lost it, thats for damn sure. Shitty team? Dude get real.
Can we have a voting system to get accounts deleted? In 2009 Holmes had 79 receptions for 1,248 yards, 5 TD's, and 0 fumbles. That's a average of 15.8 yards per catch. We got him for a 5th rounder. I'm saying this in every thread, we need to get Keller back has a focal point of this offense. Since we've strayed from that the results have not been great. In our 2 big wins against the Pats and Phins Keller was our leading receiver at or over 100 yards. Week 4 against the Bills Braylon was the leading receiver but Keller had 28 yards and 2 TD's. Week 5, the debut of Holmes, Keller 2 catches for 14 yards out of 5 targets, Edwards, Cotchery, and Holmes all had more targets. Week 6, a struggle in Denver, Keller 3 receptions for 75 yards, 0 TD's. Week 7, the GB BS- 2 for 45. Cotchery was targeted 13 times. All I am trying to say is keep Keller involved.
I agree that Edwards is better at this point but to say get rid of Santonio is a horse of a different color. Yeah I didn't like the pomp after the first downs but Keller does the same thing. That's what they do. Santonio is still showing rust. Every time he catches the ball I'm waiting for the fumble. It will pass. I think this passing game will flourish in the second half of the season. While most will say Sanchez is ignoring Braylon to go to Holmes is a half truth. The more he spreads it around now the more effective it will be down the road. He has to break Holmes in and show him trust. Still though in crunch time I'd be targeting the Big E more. But let's not lose our heads.
The problem with Holmes is that the Jets have changed their style to accommodate him. Here are the stats. From week 1 - week 4 & Weeks 5 - 8. Weeks 1 -4: Average Offensive Plays: 59 Rushing attempts: 32.75 Rushing Yards: 167.75 Yards per carry: 5.09 Rushing Touchdowns per game: 0.75 Passing Attempts: 26.25 Passing Completions: 15.50 Completion Percentage: 58% Passing Yards: 180.25 Yards per catch: 11.41 Passing Touchdowns per game: 2.25 Interceptions per game: 0 Passing/Rushing Attempts: 0.86 Weeks 5-8 Average Offensive Plays: 67.67 Rushing attempts: 30.33 Rushing Yards: 134.33 Yards per carry: 4.42 Rushing Touchdowns per game: 1.00 Passing Attempts: 37.33 Passing Completions: 18.00 Completion Percentage: 49% Passing Yards: 215.00 Yards per catch: 12.25 Passing Touchdowns per game: 0.33 Interceptions per game: 1.33 Passing/Rushing Attempts: 1.23 So we can obviously see that the amount of passing attempts has increased by 11 per game, while rushing attempts have decreased by over 2 per game. This is also a decrease of two while having an average of about 8 extra offensive plays per game. The pass/rush spread has gone from 0.86 in favor of the rush to 1.23, a 0.37 change. With the additional passing attempts, completion percentage has dropped 9%. You can draw additional conclusions if you please.
