Every game matters. I know you're trying to make everyone feel better, but stop it. It is an NFC game. Like the Falcons' game last year, it won't hurt our chances of making the playoffs nearly as much as losing to an AFC team would. Perhaps that's why the Jets were a little flat, since Rex tries to stress AFC games and divisional games so much. I don't know. And here's how it matters, really simple. The team with the best record in the NFL is in our division. We can beat the Patriots again and get the tiebreaker from them. But it won't matter if we drop other games and finish behind them. The Patriots just had 4 tough games in a row and came out unscathed. They could go 13-3. As long as they are in our division, there isn't that much margin for error.
you guys are brutal and pick apart everything someone says, even though you know what the intent is... As far as losses go, this is one of the better games to lose as ridiculous as that sounds. non conference, non divisional opponent. We just need to take care of business the next few weeks. We have 3 out of 4 straight against 2 win teams. Although i've been saying it for weeks that the lions and browns games are going to be competitive....on the road and those teams have fair pretty well against really tough opponents. However the one thing the browns do well is run the football and we've proven we can stop that. I don't think Colt McCoy beats us. we're 4-1 in the conference and 3-0 in the division....if you had asked me at the beginning of the season if i'd take a 5-2 record with our tiebreaker stats at this point of year given our opponents...i'd do it all day long. if this loss results in the same effect as the ravens one (another string of 5 wins in a row),the loss will be an afterthought. We *should* win the next 4 games. but it's hard to say that when your team throws up a stinker like it did yesterday.
This. I had this game penciled in as a loss when I first saw the schedule. Now granted that was before they had a shitload of injuries, but I had us at 5-2 at this point, the other loss being to the Dolphins, so all in all we're better off than I thought so far. After a shitty loss nobody wants sunshine blown up their asses, but I'm not drinkin Drain-O yet either.
We lost to the Ravens by 1 and the Packers by 9 and we played like dog shit in both games. It could be a lot worse. I'll take 5-2
To the OP- keep trying to justify it that way for your own benefit. With only 16 games, every game matters.
next at Lions -- at Browns -- Texans and Bengals at New Jet Stadium --- 9-2 at the end of November and ready for the home stretch
