Does that average include Weatherford's longest run of the day?

I really don't agree with that at all. Greene and LT averaged a combined 3.5 ypc. When you consider the fact that neither of them had the chance to break out a big run, that isn't bad at all, and that certainly isn't getting "stuffed". Green Bay is also very thin at DL and their run D is ranked in the bottom 1/3 of the league. If we had kept a consistent ground attack I have no doubt that line would have worn down and LT/SG broken through for some big plays.

Your opinion is your opinion. Bottom line

    4.1 yards a rush
    +
    their d-line being ravaged injuries
= we gave up on the run way too early.

They have a very good secondary and we played right into their hands by passing as much as we did.

I didn't count the double reverse, the fake punt, or Sanchez's average.

Like I said earlier they abandoned the run thinking they needed the big play to win even though they were only down 3 most of the game.

Ahh, I forgot about that run and I think Sanchez had a long run at the end of the game too.

It's getting stuffed for the Jets. You might be right about the run game eventually breaking one but I tend to think that there would have just been more holding penalties.

You guys are getting ridiculous with the Shotty hate. Plus go ask Nebraska fans how good of a HC/OC Callahan is. He is what he's here for a great teacher of the OL - period.

Play calling? Holmes dropped a pass that would have ended up being a td. Cotchery dropped two passes that would have led to big drives. That's the story... Some of you always need a freakin scapegoat. They lost cause they played awful. Not the coach, the players.

I've been saying this since Holmes has come back. We no longer are the physical offensive team we were. Another game we are completely pass happy even when we are doing descent in the run game it makes me sick.

With a bye week I expected to see some new plays today but I was able to call about 75% of the game which if I know what you're doing from the nose bleed im sure the other team does.

Wait so you're placing all the blame on the wrs?? None on Sanchez. When your team gets shut out in its own building the blame is on the entire offensive unit and the coaching staff equally. GROUND AND POUND is dead now we just playaction now to replace the run

Thank you. They lost today because they failed to execute. Dropped passes, penalties, and turnovers (even though the two picks were totally bogus). Everytime we started a promising drive, someone screwed it up. The play calling was not the problem today, it was the execution.

Ground and pound is dead because our offense can't complete a pass.

Running game got stuffed? Who was watching the same game as I was? They averaged 4.1 yards per attempt, which is slightly off the Jets avg. of 4.9 but would still place them well in the top half of the league in that category. I thought they were being effective and would have wore down such a depleted front 7 for the packers.

But instead we got 29 rushes to 38 passes, trick plays, passes on 3rd and 1, dropped balls and soft manhandled receivers.

They gave up the running game far too soon and why?

RUN THE DAMN BALL behind one of the best run blocking lines against a depleted D-line known for giving up rushing yards.

    The Double End Around

I hope Rex rips the page with the Double End Around out of the playbook...and makes Schotty eat it in front of the entire team.

I'm not calling for Schotty's head.....but for some reason...this play shows up from time to time (usually when the Jets Offense is looking for a big play because nothing else is working)...and the offense ends up looking like morons when they try to execute it.

    stop calling this retarded play....

Dude even when the offense is faced with terrible weather we passed 40 times. We've lost our balanced attack since holmes returned and schotty evenn after a bye week couldn't find how to make it work.

I like that play in a reasonable situation....it was a terrible time to call it when he did today.

It's Schotty's version of a double ended dildo. He reams us fans with it every chance he gets.
