I have enough evidence to believe the bye week vacation is not beneficial to this football team. They need to practice during the bye week to maintain their level of play. The offense was extremely out of rhythm and the execution was atrocious. I don't agree with the lengthy vacation. Give them 3 days of vacation, and then its back to work. I don't like how they come out of the bye with one phase of the game always looking like shit.
The D didn't look phased by the extra time off. Looks like the WRs and Schotty suffered the most with all the down time.
The defense would have probably held them to 17 if they were fully healthy. But the jets offense may have given them another 10 if the Packers were fully healthy. They can't jerk off for 6 days and come back to work. They need 10 days of practice. That was embarrassing.
And that's what I'd like fixed. If one phase is that atrocious, then they don't need the time off. Zero points at home is inexcusable.
The way we played before the bye, I would've thought the D should've been the unit that didn't get any time off. The O seemed to play well enough to deserve a break. Hopefully this is a one week aberration and the extra time off helps us stay fresh in the long run.
This felt a lot like the ravens game even though Sanchez made a more big plays this time around, but it makes you think that if we do make the playoffs that a first round bye isnt so great. Obviously rex wouldnt give them the week off, but it seems like schotty overthinks his gameplans with the extra time.
Rex is the Real Reason The Jets Lost.... Yeah I said it and here is the reason why: He gave the Jets too many days off and obviously the offense was out of sync. It is true the WR's dropped a shit ton of passes today, as did the RB's and those awful strips. That said maybe they were off a little too long. Rex is now 0-2 after the bye week. Now does this bit of rest help the Jets for later on in the season remains to be seen. I am not saying it to bitch, it is just matter of fact imo. FYI: I said it was ok to give the team 6 days rest and I was obviously wrong.
The problem is you can't give Shittenheimer extra time to prepare.. then he thinks overthinks things and as we all know that's a complete disaster.
