I found a helpful site (sorry I cant post links yet, Google 'antenna direction' and it should be the first link. it says 'Address")

Put in your address and it will tell you how far you are from the signal and other info. If you click on 'view street map' it will also show you what direction to aim the antenna in for the best signal.

Nice find..bad results..haha. Says I can get 3 channels..maybe. If I go to multiple stories (roof mount I assume) I can get about 10 including FOX. A bar is a better and cheaper alternative to doing that.

    AntennaWeb

Is one site you can check...It has info on types and distances.

also, if you wanna chuck cable (what I did 5 years ago) all together, I have an HD antenna INSIDE my attic which gets me 4-5 bars (85-90%) signal and I don't have to worry about it moving or resetting.

The $150 a month go towards our Season tix

But check out both options I posted if you want a simple solution...

ftr, I'm in Englewood so I have a pretty clear shot of the City for my antenna.

We use antennaweb.com or tvfool.com at work to locate off air locals on new projects.

    http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/10/30/fox-returns-to-cablevision/
The Fox network flickered back to life in three million homes serviced by Cablevision on Saturday night, signaling an end to an unusually long and bitter feud between the cable company and Fox’s parent company, the News Corporation.

Fox had been blacked out in Cablevision homes since Oct. 16 because the two companies could not agree on new contract terms. Cablevision services the New York metropolitan area.

The signal was restored in time for the third game of the World Series, which is being televised by Fox. The two companies said in a statement that they had reached a new deal “in principle.”

The dispute came down to dollars and cents. News Corporation and other owners of local television stations have been fighting distributors for higher retransmission fees, arguing that their programs are worth paying for even though they are available free over the airwaves.

I thought all week that it would be back by tomorrow. I assured that as soon as I signed up for that ivi.tv.

Cablevision already said in their statement that they (cablevision) caved, and "paid fox an unfair price for its stations"

Both sides will be positioning themselves and saying "We caved", just to save face.

    Cablevision just did it 1st...
In the end, they're both making Billions and screwed the customer for a few weeks....
and you'll still be paying a bill that is going to increase...

Yeah, and that's the point. If they paid more then we pay more.
