Harris should be the next guy to get re-signed.

I forgot about Strickland. Shame he couldn't stay healthy - he was doing some good stuff on the field last year when he was.

"The Jets do miss him on the field though. For all his faults he was a tremendous athlete and when you see the poor play of the Jets secondary you have to assume its partially due to the loss of Rhodes."

    *dismissive wank motion*

Don't we also have some RFAs next year that could net us some draft picks if a new CBA isn't reached?

If a new cba isn't reached there won't be a next year so it is moot.

Yeah, when I started to read I was ready to get angry as I do every time people reminisce about those 4.

To decide if it's a good deal or not people should ask themselves if next year at the draft you could trade Cromartie for a 3rd and Holmes for a 5th. Think there'd be any takers?

This was a great read. I hope they find a way to sign Harris while bringing back Cro, Edwards and Holmes. Also something to think about is if LT keeps up his high level of play without any injury what they will do with him next year as well.

Nah.........why trade a pick for an established young player?

I've always disagreed with that philosophy.

You build to be successful and then you maintain that success.

The Redskins try to win now, and fail every time because they don't maintain success.

I'm not attacking you, just debating the philosophy in general.

I completely agree, I kinda forgot about Kerry until this.

For all his idiosyncrasies he has always been a solid player.

Hell, we complained about his tackling and look who we go out and get in Cromartie from that point of view.

    Meh.

Safeties are expected to be good tacklers anyway, and Cro has been solid for us so far in that department. He gets unfairly knocked for his past.

There's still going to be a draft.

I've watched Cro on running plays. He's still as hesitant as ever.

He's been good in pass protection. He's made plenty of plays.

    ................................................................................................

As for Kerry - I don't think the secondary is playing the coverages the same way, or there are communication breakdowns due to the new guys.

Regardless of how Rhodes is playing in AZ, it was most definitely a good move to get rid of him - he wasn't a team player and it was well worth getting rid of his over-inflated ego to replace him with a role player like Pool who does his job and doesn't distract from the chemistry of the D.

Great article overall - I pretty much agree with all of the rest of the assessments. As long as we get Harris a new deal there really isn't much at all to complain about.
