I was reading Gil Brandt's blurb on matchups this week and he says the matchup to watch in our game is Rodgers vs Cromartie (or Rodgers-Cromartie is you think stupid coincidences are funny). I disagree with Gil, because Rodgers will be looking to work Lee and Nelson and this Quarless guy against our crappy DB depth. Anyway, I see this being one of his highest totals fo the season for pass attempts because it is likely that we will give them very little or nothing on the ground. I would not be surprised to see Rodgers' total pass attempts approach 60....of course our strategy on D has got to be to not even allow GB to have that offensive plays. So maybe I should go the other way and say I don't see GB attempting more than 12 rushes....not including possible scrambles. Let's just hope Leonhard, Lowery, Coleman and Pool come to play!
Those four have all played great this year. How can you call that crappy DB depth? Wilson is the only one who hasn't.
When is he going to have time for all these attempts? Unless the Jets are gaining 25 yds a pop per rush and scorning quickly each time i don't see GB having the TOP to get near that many passes off.
i bet there's teams with guys like dwight lowery, drew coleman, and a rookie CB as there top 3 on depth chart.
Dude...Cro/Revis.... You can rush 6 or 7 every down if you wish. Rodgers will be lucky to escape healthy.
Tuds, GB has faced PHI, BUF, CHI, DET, WAS, MIA and MIN. Which of those teams has better DB depth than the Jets? I'll bet you can't name the 3rd DB on any of those teams without looking it up - maybe you would know Maimi.
The Broncos managed to run the ball well against us, so anything's possible, even with a shitty running game. On one hand, if he throws the ball a lot, that isn't good because he's still a big time QB with the ball in his hands. On the other hand, if he throws a lot, that's good because it means they can't run and are one-dimensional, which is easier to defend. On paper, we should do well, but that was also the case in Denver and we barely got out of there with a win. I'm less concerned with our defense and more with Sanchez and our passing game. We should be able to run like crazy, but they play the game for a reason.
The Packers offense is just amazing...in 7 games this season they are averaging 500+ yards of offense, 40+ points, 0 ints, 5TD's a game. We have no chance... Or then again... Can somebody tell me why this offense is so highly rated? With the exception of the Bills they've not lit anybody up.
Like Tuds is doing now, I hope we don't overlook GB's non-existent running game like we did the Broncos. Jackson ran the ball pretty well against the Vikings D. He didn't record a 100+yd game, because they had to take it to the air, but he averaged 4.1 ypc that game, which has been his best game so far as RB. Hopefully we learned that against the Broncos and we come prepared for everything.
I personally played against Andrew Quarless in high school. I played for Massapequa and we beat Uniondale 7-6 in the semis to get to the championship game. Im shocked that Quarless is even in the pros and even more shocked that he is actually playing. In high school the guy was just big, and didnt really seem that great. He did poke me in the eye really bad and forced me out of the game for a play. Anyways, just thought that was a cool story. And i dont think he should be consided a "threat" against us.
If Green Bay is running 72 plays we are in trouble. We need to hold them to 3 and outs. Or at the very least, not allow them to have long drives every time they touch the ball....
Rodgers pass attempts this week? Over/Under the number of Jtuds Hotdog to mouth photos on TGG. I say under.
